Looks like 2008 is getting much more interesting than 2007 for us JP fans! Recently, a handful of prototypes were being sold on eBay: an urethane prototype of Dr. Snare (from the second Jurassic Park series), and a lot with an unpainted hardcopy proto of Snare, along with an Alan Grant painted test shot. They respectively sold for $255 and $108, not much considering the scarcity of these items. Still, this kind of auction gives us a nice insight about how these toys that we love so much are produced, so it's always good to see them.

From the same seller who brought to surface the prototypes from last week, a few prototypes recently showed up on eBay: several urethane prototype of the Coelophysis' limbs (from the first Jurassic Park series), and a primed sample of a Jaws Jackson figure. They respectively sold for $53.77 and $102.50, which shows that such items don't go for much these days. However, I can understand people not getting crazy about a handful of limbs, even if they're a nice example of what happened during the production of these toys... Thanks goes to forum regular Raptorbite for the heads up! And in other news, we have a new collection to show. Guillaume, from France, was kind enough to send us pictures of his wonderful collection, so feel free to take a look at it on the collections section.

With a small delay, here is a little news about a prototype that was recently for sale on eBay: an unpainted testshot of the Dino-Snare Dirt Bike from the Lost World toy line. This item ended at $207.50 but, sadly, didn't meet the reserve price listed by the seller. With all these prototypes showing up on eBay and the Sideshow news, we can really call ourselves JP fans quite lucky, especially after the 2007 news drought!
JPToys is also happy to welcome a new affiliate: Jurassic Toys. Be sure to check out their new design, and great-looking database!

So, as people lurking around the forums have noticed, two prototypes have recently been unearthed, and luckily for us, the owner (a well-known collector nicknamed Ajaythehunter) was kind enough to take a bunch of pictures for us to drool over. All these pictures have been added to the The Lost World Triceratops and the Chaos Effect Ultimasaurus individual pages. Feel free to take a look at these gems, and again, a big thanks to Ajaythehunter for his kindness!

Well, well, well, pictures of unreleased toys are raining, these days! Today, we are proud to present you several pictures of the unreleased Scutosaurus from the Jurassic Park Series 2 line, which were taken by forum member AlphaBrachio. He was kind enough to take big, pristine clear pics of his gem and send them our way for all the community to enjoy. A big thanks goes to him!
In other news, we are proud to welcome a new affiliate: Jack De La Mare's Jurassic Park 4 website! As usual, you can access it by clicking on the little icon on the right. So, make sure to make a little stop on this neat-looking new site!

Today's going to be regular forum member Roselaar's day. We have several interested bits of info to share, and they all come from him. So, here we go!
First, we have 31 new, great-quality reviews for you to enjoy, all by Roselaar. You can discover them in the Lost World and Chaos Effect dinosaurs sections!
Roselaar also uncovered some old catalogs from local Dutch toy stores featuring JP toys, and he was kind enough to scan them and send them our way. You can see what this kind of catalogs look here in Europe by going to our new Holland catalogs section.
And finally, some speculation about the unreleased Ornithosuchus with Dino Trapper... Roselaar recently reminded us about a strange eBay auction, which makes for a neat new point of interest about this elusive toy...
That's it for today, boys and girls! Have fun with this bunch of news, and stay tuned! We still have one or two small things in store...

Quite a big news for today's update. For the first (well, second, actually) time ever, the elusive Ornithosuchus with Dino Trapper has appeared on eBay! This set was known since this series' release in 2000, being mentioned on some boxes, but so far, we had no idea what it looked like. But now that we have a picture of this set, and especially of the, might we say, "flamboyant" Dino Trapper, the reason why it wasn't released becomes quite obvious...
A big thanks goes to Lostworld4ever, Nix and Sjappie for telling us about the appearance on eBay of this gem. Make sure to take a look at this set's page to see more pictures and info about this toy!

We're happy to present you a new Ultimasaurus prototype that was recently unearthed by forum member Barbara22, from France. Simply by contacting Hasbro France, she had, with some patience, the opportunity to get in touch with someone from the US who had worked on the Chaos Effect line. And luckily for her, that person still had an Ultimasaurus prototype and was ready to sell it. And that's how Barbara22 could get her hand on this gem, and was kind enough to share great quality pictures of her find.
Two new close-ups (front view and back view) have been added on the Ultimasaurus page, as well as a bigger version of the picture seen below. Enjoy!
*UPDATE*: We've been told that these pictures aren't from an Ultimasaurus owned by forum member Barbara, but in fact were taken by toy designer Tim Bradley, who worked on the Chaos Effect line, and was kind enough to be interviewed by JPToys a few months ago. So, to give credits back to where it's due, thanks a lot for these pictures, Mr. Bradley!

Now, here's a great way to kick off Autumn 2008! JPToys was lucky enough to have the opportunity to acquire one sample of the gem that was discovered three weeks ago, and is now proud to present you several close-up shots from the Ornithosuchus with Dinosaur Trapper. Feel free to take a look at these high-definition pictures!
Also, we have two new galleries in the Fan's Corner to present you. First, a new collection gallery from Justin, with loads of rare, mint-in-box toys. And also up for your viewing pleasure, a custom gallery from long-time forum member Angelrex, which includes customs inspired by unproduced toys, hatchlings and juveniles inspired by well-known JP toys like Bull or Thrasher T-Rexes, and pure creations. Enjoy!

As Kevin said last time, we like to show what the Jurassic Park fan base is able to do. But today's news is going to be more toy related, with, first, this amazing Chaos Effect Euoplocephalus custom, inspired by the well-known unreleased toy, and created by forum member Dutchallosaur. You can see more pictures of this great piece of work in Dutchallosaur's thread over at the forum, and a video featuring this custom over here (yes, she even took the time to have a working action feature). Impressive work, isn't it?
Speaking of impressive (but size-wise, this time) works, check out this huge model created for a Haunted House attraction, and which is nothing less than a life-size Electronic Velociraptor, from the Lost World line. Now that's an attraction everyone would want to go to, huh?

Finally, a picture of what is supposed to be the last JP2K9 toy we were still waiting to see was released, over at Toyark.com (a big thanks goes to ChaosGhostHunter for letting us know). Most people expected the rumored new Electronic T-Rex to be yet another mere repaint of good ol' JP3 Ultra T-Rex, but boy were we wrong! This new Rex appears to be a retooled version of the enormous Bull T-Rex from the Lost World line, without the "open-belly" feature, but with poseable legs! Now, that's a huge surprise! And the cherry on the cake, the paintjob is very reminiscent of the infamous unreleased Gulper T-Rex. Nice tip of the hat from the designer here! So, kudos to Hasbro for this daring move!

So, it looks like 2010 is definitely shaping up to be a great year for Jurassic Park collectors! Forum member Rabidrex recently posted some info about the Revoltech Expo in Japan, where well-known Japanese brand Kaiyodo revealed their 2010 line-up. And yup, a T-Rex from Jurassic Park is among these new toys! For all the people who have wanted a well-articulated T-Rex for year, look no further, this one is gonna deliver. The only "downside" is its size: approximately 2.5" tall and about 6" long head to tail. But still, it's going to be a great piece of collectible to own. Check this link for a good view of the T-Rex prototype!
In other news, forum member Quetzalcoatlus, well known on our forums for the amazing customs made by a friend of his, Roberto, showed us the latest creation of his buddy: a custom of the unreleased TLW series 2 Triceratops! And boy, is this custom drool-worthy! And it also features removable dino-damage piece, and movable legs! Indeed, one awesome piece to own. You can see more pictures of this gem in Quetzalcoatlus' thread on the forums. Enjoy!

Hey folks! Today, we've got another proof that even after more than 15 years, you can still discover new things about unreleased toys from old Jurassic Park lines. We present you, on behalf of our long-time contributor and resident "toy detective" DemonCarnotaur, a new concept art for a figure planned for the Lost World Series 2 line: the "Scout Hunter" with "Blood Hound Carno".
Indeed, as many people mentioned, this figure is rather reminiscent of the video game character Turok, but still, it would have made quite a unique and exciting new concept in the JP universe!
In other news, what we tentatively consider to be the Jurassic Park 4 logo (or maybe a place-holder logo, time will tell) has recently been revealed, along with the confirmation that JP4 will indeed be released in 2015. Patience is a virtue, but considering that we've been waiting since 2001, heck, what's two more years? Also, a summary of JP4's story has been posted on a well-known movie website, JoBlo (spoilers, obviously). It's still a bit early to consider this to be exactly what the movie will be about, especially with all the rewrites currently happening, but can you imagine what kind of cool toys we'll be having if they follow this story? 2015 can't come soon enough! And meanwhile, stay tuned!

Hey folks! If you thought 2018 was already hurting your wallet too much, well, 2019 is shaping up to be no different. As you can see below, the first pictures from Mattel's line-up for next year have been revealed on 4chan, and what can be seen is rather...interesting. We can see several items from a new "Savage Strike" line, including a Dimetrodon (from the 2018 Destructasaurs line, which is still unreleased to this day), brand new Tapejara and Styracosaurus (a species long overdue) figures, as well as repacks and retools from the 2018 line.
Also revealed were two figures from a "Dual Action" line: a Stegosaurus repaint/retool with rather funky colors, and what appears to be a Therizinosaurus with a great body, and a totally inaccurate head sculpt (unless it's a Therizi/Raptor hybrid, of course).
And finally, a new big T-Rex was shown, with what appears to be a thrashing tail action feature. Hope you still have some space after the four (six if you count the Battle Damage versions) big Rexes released this year!
So, there you have it for now! Of course, these are preliminary versions of what we'll see next year (to give you an idea of how different released items can be, take a look at these Roarivores early prototypes from this year's line), so expect some changes! We will of course keep you updated as more is revealed, so stay tuned!

A user who goes by the name "Gallimimus" sent inGenNET some Jurassic Park toys prototypes pictures. Our good friend "DathMaulSithLord" from inGenOps (which just opened) has posted a couple of never before seen prototype photos of Alan Grant & Paul Kirby from the second wave of JP/// toys soon to hit the shelves. Here's a few interesting little prototype items that my buddy Dan J. stumbled upon at eBay. Here's the description according to the seller: "You are bidding at Hasbro Kenner Jurassic Park III Production action figure Test Shot Prototype , It around 4" tall complete all accessory and Weapon , No Trademark in his body." You can find the autcion by searching for "JP III" and right now the current price is set at $49.90 a piece. Bid with caution! For the other pics, make sure you check out the new Protoype area in the JP/// section.

We've certainly had our fair share of JP merchandise liscense updates over the last year or so, almost all confusing to say the least. Well forum member 'crex' (who also happens to be Chris - see 10/2 story below) recently had one of his staffers inquire directly to the Star Wars team at Hasbro to get some sort of definitive answer on just what is really going on. Here's what he had to say:
"Since the summer the Star Wars team @ Hasbro has been allowing the SW Collecting sites to submit 3 questions each week. So after a few weeks of doing this, I decided to see if they would bite on a JP question. Turns out they still have the license and do plan on future releases BUT they are repaint exclusives to KB. Now obviously, the findings at KB months ago support that.
If the license ran out, someone would pick it up and announce it. And the exclusive thing has been following Hasbros MO lately with the repaints. There has been plenty of repaints with Star Wars and thats a license thats a year removed from a movie year, 6 months before the 30th anniversary build up and the upcoming TV shows. A license like JP wouldnt make fiscal sense to invest money for new product when no significant news is out there in terms of movie announcements and they can still get some return from JP with small scale repaints."
A big thanks to Chris again for that update. So in short, we can expect more repaints down the road until JP4 rolls around. I'm sure that's what most expected anyway but hopefully this report can serve to clear matters up just a bit. Also worth noting today is a set of JP3 prototypes that recently surfaced on ebay and were purchased by forum moderator Raptoralpha. He was kind enough to take several new pics along with descriptions which can all be found in this thread on our forum.

If you remember way back to February of 2003 we had our first ebay sighting of the unreleased JPS2 Scutosaurus & Ornithosuchus. Well it appears that Scutosaurus at least has popped up online again but this time on the Chinese site Taobao (think ebay). It's very interesting to see these rare items showing up from time to time on ebay and various other sites such as this. It really makes you wonder just what other JP gems are out there waiting to be discovered. A big thanks to forum member 'Piltdown Chickenraptors' for the heads up.

Just when some were starting to doubt whether we'd see these new "micro-dinos" we get the following report from forum member 'robotassassin':
"I'm new to the board and I just returned from Florida. I was at Universal Studios, Orlando. I loved the JP area at the Islands of Adventure. The river ride was great but a bit short and the discovery center was closed off for remodeling!!! . Anyways back on the subject. As you all may know there is a new series of mini JPD("Jurassic park dinosaurs") being released by Hasbro, along with the large electronic t-rex & pterranodon, and the regular 3 electronic dinos w/3 mini dinos. I happen to go shopping around in the smaller shop that is located within the discovery center and to my surprise they had all 4 of the new mini-dino packs.
-Tyrannosaurus Rex & Spinosaurus
-Tyrannosaurus Rex & Triceratops
-Stegosaurus & Velociraptor
-Pteranodon & "compy"
I purchased the "Tyrannosaurus Rex & Spinosaurus" and the "Tyrannosaurus Rex & Triceratops." Both are great! This line is starting to get serious and is showing more "realistic/movie-like" paint apps. They don't appear silly or odd like their previous releases."
Unfortunately he was not able to pass along pics at this time. We will of course post anything right here once we receive it so stay tuned. In news around the site today, some pretty cool new CE prototypes of Ian Malcom & Roland Tembo were spotted by forum member 'cityscapes' and those are now up for your viewing pleasure in our prototypes section. Finally today we have a new diorama gallery from 'dilophosaurus1' that includes over 17 dioramas.

WOW! JPToys.com is making waves with our new picture database! One of our enthusiastic members took note and sent in the below picture to be added to our archives! The picture is of the back of the Deluxe Desert Spinosaurus package. We see our elusive friends the Ultra Canyon T-rex and Deluxe Desert Spinosaurus - but they've been joined by two new toys which many of you have never seen: Deluxe Tropical Raptor & Lava Pteranadon! The picture is a bit fuzzy, but it is still a gem none-the-less. Visit our Toy Database here to learn more about these.

Well, our last unfinished toy database is finally online! With the JP Prototypes we managed to dig up several pictures from our old geocities server and then touched them up a bit for your viewing pleasure. We plan to add many more in the coming weeks so stay tuned for that. Remember, if you have any prototype pictures that you'd like to submit, please don't hesitate to contact us today! Forum regular PygmyAllosaurus came across an interesing article while browsing the "Toy Showcase" section of the December 2004 issue of Lee's Toy Review magazine. Here's what he had to say:
"I was shocked to see the Chaos Effect: Night Hunter line in the "Toy Showcase" section(which is where they show off prototypes & extremely rare pieces every month) of the December 2004 issue of Lee's Toy Review(it's #146). Not because I hadn't seen them before- there are pictures from a catalog on this website, but because they were pictures we don't have... packaged pictures. The pictures are quite tiny though, and before anyone asks I don't have a scanner or a digital camera. The caption underneath the pictures says: "Unreleased Jurassic Park Chaos Effect: Night Hunter Series. These are Hasbro product samples of the nixed last series of JP Chaos Effect figures; the Chaos Effect series went extinct on the cusp of the new millennium. No sales quotes have been recorded to date."
Of course this is something we're following up on so if some higher resolution pics do surface, we'll be sure to pass them along. BTW, be sure to stay tuned for tomorrow's update regarding the Diorama Contest.

Thanks again to Extinct for sending those in. We'll be sure to post others as we receive them so be sure to keep checking back. In other news today, we have a new diorama gallery from Dinoboy18 which includes a whopping 17 dioramas...check 'em out!

Right after the news of Papo's new Styracosaurus, forum member spartansquat told us that the fanbase could expect yet another gem: an Ankylosaurus! Today, forum member dinolord posted a picture of Papo's newest creation. It turned to be yet another must-have for the Papo-collector! But, it is not the first time sculptors make an Euoplocephalus and name it Ankylosaurus instead. For the Jurassic Park fans among us, this piece is a nice replacement for the only adult Jurassic Park Ankylosaurid that never saw the light of day. A big thanks goes to both members. And Papo: keep up the good work!

After the very good copy of the unreleased TLW series 2 Triceratops he managed to copy the Ultimasaurus from the Chaos Effect series. An interesting discovery was made by staff member Trike123. Whilst surfing the internet he came across an advertisement for The Lost World finger puppets. To his surprise, he noticed that this ad had some prototypes, and that one of these was of a so far unknown figure!
The vehicle appears to be a JP series 2 Capture Cruiser, and the figure in the bottom left corner is a repaint of JP series 2 'Harpoon' Harisson, but the figure on the right hasn't appeared in any JP series! It is unclear whether this figure belongs to JP series 2, or was intended for TLW, (or JP in general) as the ad appears to be made specifically for TLW, with the baby T-Rex and the colours for the Parasaurolophus and Velociraptor, but the action figures being Jurassic Park series 2.
Feel free to join the discussion on the forum!

After practically living on Google and Waybackmachine.org for a few days, the staff team of JPToys managed to recover a lot of 'lost' prototype pictures. These pictures used to be on other JP toy fan sites, but those have disappeared through the years. Most pictures found their way to JPToys, but a bunch of them didn't and were considered lost for a very long time. This also includes the far better, original pictures of some prototypes. Plus, we added a lot of more recent prototype pictures too. So, we present to you: over 50 new prototype pictures on the website! Please check the prototype sections of each toy line, as the Jurassic Park series 2, The Lost World series 1 and 2, Jurassic Park 3, Chaos Effect, CamoXtreme, Jurassic Park:Dinosaurs 2 and Jurassic Park 2009 have all been updated.
And that's not all. We have a big surprise, also concerning recent prototypes (not visible in the picture below)... check our forum to see what it is (and for a full list of all new pictures)!

Recently we announced four new dinosaur prototypes had surfaced, with previously unknown sculpts. Unfortunately, they were difficult to see, so still no-one knew what they really looked like. However, this time forum member JPvision managed to obtain sharp and detailed pictures of all specimens! So for those of you who saw the earlier pictures and are curious to see how they really look like, please visit our new forum thread and enjoy this very exclusive update!

Today we have exciting news, it has brought to our attention by several members that TODAY on TRAVEL CHANNEL, around 9 pm EST, the episode titled 'Prehistoric Pennsylvania' will air, which features many Jurassic Park prototypes. From the pictures available we saw that there are many prototypes, like a Thrasher T-Rex, but also the notorious unreleased TLWS2 Triceratops! This is an episode you cannot miss! Since many foreign members cannot watch this episode, they are advised to keep an eye on the forum. We will try to offer a solution.
Please visit our forum discussion right here! We also encourage all fans to post comments on Travel Channel's Facebook page, as well as their Twitter account. Let them hear we are very excited someone gave the relatively small Jurassic Park merchandise this much attention!
Credit goes to forum members sickleclaw, desj06, JPvision and one anonymous contributor for giving us all the information and pictures.

Thanks to forum member Ichtyosaur, who took the effort of taking pictures of the Toy Hunter episode that featured Jurassic Park prototypes, we now have pictures of the prototypes shown. Many members have been asking JPToys for this, since not everyone was able to see the episode. We want to invite everyone to visit this thread, to see what awesome prototypes have been revealed. And yes, it does include the notorious TLWS2 Triceratops, TWICE.
Also, don't forget to post positive comments on Travel Channel's Facebook page, as well as their Twitter account. The more positive feedback they get, the more they are encouraged to continue with what they are doing (and thus we might see more JP toy gems in the future).

Today we have a plethora of news to report, so lets get started! First up, we have what seems to be evidence of a new Hasbro Jurassic Park line for 2014! Once again, mysterious new listings have appeared in the Toys R Us inventory system just waiting to be discovered, which of course, we discovered. Check out the picture, and item details below!

- Giant Raptor - Hasbro Item # B1139 - $9.99
- Basher Biter - Hasbro Item # B1271 - $9.99
- Growlers - Hasbro Item # B1633 - $14.99
- Chomping Rex - Hasbro Item # B1156 - $19.99
While we do not have a release date yet, I suspect we may see the items as soon as August, or Fall at the latest. As for specifics on the toys, they remain unknown, though some may be the unreleased 6" JP 2011 sculpts (Which we know consisted of the following and perhaps more: Velociraptor, Stegosaurus, Dilophosaurus, Pachycephalosaurus, Spinosaurus and Ankylosaurus). Stay tuned for further updates..

Next up is our first look at merchandise from Jurassic World, the long awaited fourth installment of the Jurassic Park franchise! Thanks to a set visit via Today Show we caught our first glimpse into Jurassic Worlds fictional gift shop, and we got a clear look at a 'Raptor Claw' toy by Hasbro! Check out the video here, and the picture below!

If only we could get a higher resolution of the video, as there seem to be a few more actual Jurassic World products hanging on the back wall. At this time it seems the other items will remain a mystery, but hopefully further set visits will share more glimpses of whats to come.

Our final bit of news is a blast from the past, proving that the Jurassic Park Dinosaurs simply want to defy extinction: check out the canceled Jurassic Park Chaos Effect Ceratosaurus!

It's truly amazing that after all these years, a completely unknown Prototype appeared and that we were able to obtain pictures. It is worth noting that the item now resides in a private collection and is in good hands, so fear not, it will not be forgotten or lost. Check out the toys page here, and on that note, our barrage of news is wrapped up for today, but stay tuned for more as it seems there will be plenty to report on the horizon!
