JP TOY NEWS FROM OVERSEAS

It's been a while since we've had an update from our European friends overseas, so here it goes. According to Raptoralpha over at Jurassic Park Toys, it looks like more and more JP/// toys are finally finding their way to toy shelves in Europe. Here's what he had to say: "Apparently it looks like Hasbro still surprises us! In the catalogues and the orderlists were everything printed what was going to be released here in Belgium. Now it appears that they released the eggs with hatchlings (+ 12 EUR) and the remote control Spinosaurus (54,36 EUR). All were noticed by our good friend and moderator Raptoralpha in the toymagazines from Broze! Hopefully this is for whole Europe and that they still release other stuff (like Alpha Pteranodon)."

TYRANT REVIEWS THE AQUA SPINO

Did everyone have a great weekend? I hope it went well. One of my great staffers here at JPTC has just finished his review of the Aqua Spinosaurus from the second wave of JP/// toys. He even took a couple of pictures for us to go along with the great review. You can read it here. Also, don't forget that we have a complete archive of all our reviews located here for your reading pleasure.

NEW INFO. ON HASBRO'S JP TOY SITE & MORE!

Dan J. comes through for us again! Here's an e-mail he sent my way in which he asked Hasbro about any current plans they have for the fall releases of their JP/// toys. Also, check after this reply for information on Hasbro's new toy site. Well, after I got three form letters back from Hasbro trying to shoo me off, I got a little fed up. My letter and response is below: Hello Hasbro Consumer Affairs Associate, Thank you for your prompt last letter. However, I would still like to know what I asked. I have tried your website numerous times, and gotten nothing. The Jurassic Park 3 website is not up yet, to my knowledge. I was told in a letter that I could check back in the fall for more information on what you are releasing (I was told that you have over 25 of my letters on file, so you probably have that one). It's a pretty safe bet that you have releases finalized, since the big holiday shopping season is coming up and you want to have product availible to consumers. And I know that other lines, such as your Star Wars: POTJ line, have already been announced and release dates through Febuary 2002 have been finalized and made public in various magazines. All I am asking is what products you have planned or are releasing for Jurassic Park 3 through January/Febuary 2002. Specifically, I would like to know if you have any plans of releasing a Udesky, Nash, Cooper, or Ben figure, or if you are making playsets based on the Aviary or a Kirby Charter Plane Playset, because the Raptor Attack Playset was a miserable repaint, and I won't buy it, cause I could just dig the old pieces from my old JP Visitor's Center Playset and make that up for free. I just want to know what you are releasing from now through January/Febuary 2002 for the Jurassic Park 3 line. Looking forward to your response and NO form letters please, "At 10/18/2001 07:42 AM we wrote - Thank you for contacting us. There will be some 2 packs of the dinosaurs tentatively scheduled for release November of 2001. We have no more information on any other future products in this product line yet. There are no current plans to make the figures and playsets that you have mentioned in your e-mail. We appreciate your interest. Kelly Hasbro, Inc. Consumer Affairs Representative"

Huh...Well, I now think that the only way to see any of these figures might be through a petition. I dunno...are other people the way I am about this? (I would really like a Udesky and Nash figure, and a Kirby Plane). If I only knew how to put one together... Well, thought you might like to know. Have a great day!!! Very interesting to say the least. In other news, Dan also passed along that the Hasbro rep's told him that they hope to have their highly anticipated toy site up by the end of this month! Thanks to Dan for sending that my way and we'll keep you informed more as this situation develops.

AUSTIN REVIEWS "PARK BUILDER"

Our man Austin is back and he decided to take a look at the Park Builder game. You can read his review here. Have a great weekend everyone and Go Noles!

AMAZON.COM TWO PACKS

Have you wondered recently about those Hasbro two packs listed on Amazon.com's website? Well our good friend Dan J. decided to do a little investigating on his own. Here's his e-mail to Hasbro and then their respnose: Hello Hasbro Consumer Affairs Associate, While on Amazon.com I found three listings for dinosaur sets that include 2 dinosaurs per set: Spinosaurus/Pteranadon, T-Rex/Dilophosaurus, Raptor/Triceratops. Are these continuations of the Jurassic Park 3 line? Will they be repaints, or all new figures? Also, will there be any more Jurassic Park 3 humans/dinos/playsets, and if so, what will they be? I would truly like to know. Please write back (no form letters please) soon, and I look forward to your response. Sincerely, -Dan Suggested Answer --------------------------------------------------------------- At 10/03/2001 11:35 AM we wrote - Thank you for contacting us. There have been repaints and some new items. We do not have information available on what will be in the 2002 line. Lois Consumer Affairs Department Thanks to Dan for looking in to this and we'll be sure to pass along any other details as they become available.

"DINO-RAMA" 2 AWARD WINNERS

My good friend raptor1982 over at Jurassic Park Toys wanted me to let everyone know that all the votes have been counted and the results are in for the second version of the "Dino-Rama" awards. Make sure to check that out and we'll be back later with more...stay tuned!

JPTC TURNS 6 MONTHS OLD!

Hi everybody! I was finally able to drag myself to the computer for an update today after battling a touch of the flu for most of the week. We have a lot to get today (for a change) so let's get started. First off, as you can tell by today's top story, JPTC is now 6 months old! I owe it all to you guys and my staff for encouraging me when I thought about just calling it quits. But thanks to everyone out there JPTC has had over 58,000 hits and has become one of the most popular JP toy sites on the web in just 6 months. Thanks! Next on the agenda is our latest poll here at JPTC where you can vote for who you think would win a battle between the JP series one Rex and TLW Bull Rex...go vote! Last but certainly not least is our first Carnotaurus review. Slashaay was kind enough to share his thoughts with us and I'm glad to share it with you. You can read his review here. That's about it for today's update and I hope everyone has a great weekend. I know I will if my Seminoles can pull off an upset over the #1 ranked Miami Hurricaines this weekend in Tallahassee...we'll see!

THE JP HATCHERY TOY STORE IS NOW OPEN

My buddy Hatcher over at the JP Hatchery wanted me to help spread the word that he has recently opened a new toy store at his site. He didn't give me many details but I'm sure if you visit his site that you'll find out the details. In other news, I know I told you earlier this week that by today I would give you the latest addition to the JPTC diorama family but as it turns out, the files were sent to me in the wrong format and I'm still waiting for the correct ones. Rest assured, I'll let everyone know when I get them posted, so be on the look out for that. Have a great weekend everyone and we'll see ya soon!

GET THE JP TOYS RE-RELEASED!

My moderator, Tyrannosaur209 was kind enough to share with everyone on our boards this petition to get all of the Jurassic Park & The Lost World toys re-released. I'm just doing my part to spread the news...make sure you do the same!

AGENT SMITH REVIEWS THE ALPHA RAPTOR

Here's another review of the JP/// Alpha Velociraptor. This one comes from our man overseas, Agent Smith. You can his full review here. I'll be back later this week with a new addition to the JPTC diorama family. Stay tuned for that...

OUR NEW FORUM

Thanks to our ever growing family of members on our message boards, we were able to create a brand new board just for you! For those of you that don't know, the latest addition is a Customs forum. This is a place where all of you creative minds out there can get together and discuss your great JP toy creations! I'll be back later today with yet another review on the Alpha Velociraptor from Agent Smith.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN AND SOME JP3 DVD INFO.

First off, we here at JPTC would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Halloween. Don't get to sick on all that candy! I don't have any toy related news to pass along today but I did notice over at Dan's that he's posted the specs for the "Franchise Disc" that so many of us have been wondering just what the heck it is? Well apparently it's going to be worth it for any of you that haven't bought the set yet or those of you like me who will be sending in $6.95 to Universal to get the disc by itself. Here's the specs according to Costco.com: Running Time: 121 minutes Original featurette on the making of Jurassic Park Steven Spielberg directs Jurassic Park Animatics: T-Rex Attack Hurricane in Kauai featurette Jurassic Park featurette Original featurette on the making of The Lost World: Jurassic Park Interview with writer Michael Crichton The Lost World: Before and After the Visual Effects The Compie Dance Number: thank you Steven Spielberg from ILM The Industrial Light and Magic press reel The sounds of Jurassic Park III The art of Jurassic Park III The actors tell of their experience seeing the first Jurassic Park Jurassic Park: The Ride Sounds great to me! December 11th can't get here soon enough! If you're looking for more information on the JP/// DVD just click here.

THE ON-LINE JP PETITION IS GETTING NOTICED!

Do you remember that story we posted a few weeks back (check the archives) about the on-line petittion (started by our moderator Tyrannosaurus Rex) to get all of the old JP toys re-released? Well, apparently some people are finally starting to notice it. Adrian from Action-Figure.com posted a little blurb about it on their site. You can view and sign the petiton here. Also before I let you go today, here's a short but sweet little review that I received over this past weekend written by Jesse about the JP Para. You can view it here.

A NEW ADDITION TO THE LINKS SECTION

My moderator Nick otherwise known to everyone else as jp3rapter, wanted me to let you know that he has opened up a new message board and would like everyone to check it out. Speaking of new boards, our new boards opened up to a great response from most everyone out there and to tell you the truth, they really are great! In few days that the new board has been opened we've had over 45 members sign up and we're looking for more. Come join us by clicking on the Discussion link below and getting registered.

THE JPTC FORUMS HAVE MOVED!

In an effort to improve and upgrade our message boards, I've decided to switch over to ProBoards. We now have a ton of new features that ezboard was lacking and most importantly, no banner ads!! I'm sure that everyone will love the new layout and I can't wait to get all of regulars and new users posting away over there. So what are you waiting for? Registering is very quick and simple! I hope to see you soon!
