By Raptoralpha: This two-pack was supposed to include a repaint of the TLW Ornithosuchus, along with an undetermined human figure. It is only mentioned on the back of every card of the second wave of figures from the JP: Dinosaurs line. Sadly, since this toy line wasn't advertised a lot, no picture of this set had surfaced for years. Still, several carded samples finally showed up in summer 2008, revealing that the Dino Trapper was a (rather ridiculous) repaint of the Roland Tembo figure from the Lost World line.

Points of interest

- It was first speculated that the human figure may have been a repaint, or have used parts of the Harpoon Harrison figure, since this mold is the only Dino Tracker one that wasn't used in this toy line.
- A very pale blue Ornithosuchus, similar to the TLW version, but with the JP: Dinosaurs label on its leg, showed up on eBay years ago. Several people thought it may have been part of this elusive set, but it was soon revealed that this was the common tan JP: Dinosaurs version shot with a pretty weird lightning.
- Another eBay auction featured a strange-looking Ornithosuchus, as seen here. Everyone thought it was a mere discoloration of the TLW Ornithosuchus back then, but if you look closer, you can see a black JP logo on its leg, ruling out the TLW one. And the JP: D version never had such a bright yellow belly, so a discoloration is out of question. Finally, the carded samples revealed that this mysterious Ornithosuchus was indeed the one planned to be released in this set. Mystery solved.
- So far, at least eight carded samples, and one loose sample of the Ornithosuchus, are known to exist. The carded samples were sold for prices going from $1,000 to $4,000-$5,000.
