So, as it was revealed today by Dan on our forum, Armothe and him have decided to pass the torch to two old members and friends of theirs: Kevin (also known as TheKev316) and myself (Raptoralpha). We both are very pleased and honored to assume this task, and we will make sure to continue to keep on informing you about any new happening in the JP collecting universe (and with the new Sideshow line, we will definitely have a lot of work on our hands). Expect to see some changes on the site's design and content in the following weeks, but don't worry, JPToys is still, and will remain your first ressource site for news about Jurassic Park collecting.

Looks like 2008 is getting much more interesting than 2007 for us JP fans! Recently, a handful of prototypes were being sold on eBay: an urethane prototype of Dr. Snare (from the second Jurassic Park series), and a lot with an unpainted hardcopy proto of Snare, along with an Alan Grant painted test shot. They respectively sold for $255 and $108, not much considering the scarcity of these items. Still, this kind of auction gives us a nice insight about how these toys that we love so much are produced, so it's always good to see them.

From the same seller who brought to surface the prototypes from last week, a few prototypes recently showed up on eBay: several urethane prototype of the Coelophysis' limbs (from the first Jurassic Park series), and a primed sample of a Jaws Jackson figure. They respectively sold for $53.77 and $102.50, which shows that such items don't go for much these days. However, I can understand people not getting crazy about a handful of limbs, even if they're a nice example of what happened during the production of these toys... Thanks goes to forum regular Raptorbite for the heads up! And in other news, we have a new collection to show. Guillaume, from France, was kind enough to send us pictures of his wonderful collection, so feel free to take a look at it on the collections section.

The 2008 US Toy Fair is getting closer and closer as we speak, and Sideshow recently put a banner in their website with shadows of what we might expect to see. And look at the second shadow... Doesn't it seem awfully familiar to you? So, it looks like the first "confirmed" Sideshow JP collectible will be a statue or diorame of the King itself: good ol' Rexie. Only a few more days to wait and we will finally get to see it in all its glory. Thanks Oviraptor for the heads up!

Finally, after months of expectations, Sideshow revealed today their first collectible based on the Jurassic Park franchise. And boy did they deliver! This awesome statue is a recreation of the final scene from the first movie: the Rex versus Raptors fight. I won't tell you more, and will let you enjoy the several pictures posted on Sideshow's website (click on the logo below). The pricetag is quite high, as we could expect, but for $249.99, I would say it's definitely worth it. Also, make sure to check out the exclusive edition which also includes the "When Dinosaurs Rued The Earth" banner.
Also, in other news, we have two new dioramas by member JPDude. Make sure to check them out on his diorama gallery!

With a small delay, here is a little news about a prototype that was recently for sale on eBay: an unpainted testshot of the Dino-Snare Dirt Bike from the Lost World toy line. This item ended at $207.50 but, sadly, didn't meet the reserve price listed by the seller. With all these prototypes showing up on eBay and the Sideshow news, we can really call ourselves JP fans quite lucky, especially after the 2007 news drought!
JPToys is also happy to welcome a new affiliate: Jurassic Toys. Be sure to check out their new design, and great-looking database!

A very interesting interview was posted by member JPobsessed on our forums about an interview with Tim Bradley, a freelance designer, illustrator and author who had the opportunity to work on the Jurassic Park toy line. This interview was made for a Transformers website, but still, several questions focus around Jurassic Park. Make sure to have a look at this. Oh, and if anyone knows how to contact Mr. Bradley, or if he reads this, please send us an email at webmaster@jptoys.com. We'd be very interested to have an interview with him.
In other news, we're proud to open our latest gallery: the Sideshow Collectibles gallery! This gallery is a bit empty right now, but it will be updated when new items will be announced by Sideshow. Enjoy!

My, my, my, four news in four days?! Aren't we lucky? So, here's the scoop: forum member DemonCarnotaur noticed two very interesting features on Sideshow's website: a new article about the making of their Jurassic Park diorama, along with a neat video of their creative discussing their product (scroll down and click on "Backstage Pass" to see that video). It's nice to see that diorama was made by people truly passionate about dinosaurs, and of course, to see how this beauty came to be.

So, it's time for the big reveal. Weeks ago, I gave a little hint on our forums about finding something quite interesting. Well, this something finally arrived, and there it is: a packaged sample of the unreleased Series 2 Estemmenosuchus, along with another packaged sample of the Scutosaurus planned for the same series. These two gems were found in China, and were probably packaging test shots that were snatched by some worker before being destroyed. Make sure to check out this thread in our forums for more info and pictures about them!
Wow, talk about a great way to kick off this new month! After last month's news about Mr. Bradley's interview by a Transformers fan website, we tried to contact him to see if he would agree to be interviewed by JPToys. And with a big help of forum members Musichead and Jack De La Mare, a contact has been made, and an interview could be planned. You can read it all here: interview with Tim Bradley.
Mr. Bradley was kind enough to give us a great insight of the production of the Jurassic Park toy line, especially of the Chaos Effect series. It is truly a great pleasure and honor for us to have been able to get in touch with someone so passionate about he does, and still accessible enough to agree to be interviewed by us fans. Thank you, Mr. Bradley!
UPDATE! Mr. Bradley was kind enough to take pictures of the Ultimasaurus and the Velocirapteryx maquette he mentioned in the interview! The pictures have been added on the interview page. Enjoy!
You can now access Tim Bradley's website through the button on the Affiliates section (on your left). Make sure to check it out!

So, not too surprised? Yes, take your breath. No, you're not mistaking, it's still the JPToys you have known for years. Only better.
Today happens to be our 7th anniversary. And was there a better way to commemorate than to change the whole website? It took hundreds of hours of work, but we can now present you JPToys V3.0! The whole website has been redone, and the old server which caused many problems in the past has been replaced with a new, more reliable one. As you can see, there are many changes and new sections to the menu. Here's a list of what you can now find on your favorite site for JP merchandise-related news!
JPToys: This is where you can find infos about the website, the team behind JPToys, or the archives section with the brand new "News Finder". Yup, you won't have to browse through hundreds of old news in order to find that news posted years ago. The News Finder engine will find it for you!
Toy Database: Here, you can find everything about the many toy lines released by Kenner and Hasbro. Every toy now has its individual page (yes, even prototypes) with pictures, a price guide, and a fan-made review.
Collectible Database: Wanna see what else was released about, or inspired by the JP franchise? Discover our new, long-requested Die-Cast section? It's all there!
Fan's Corner: The JP community has been around for years. But what have they been up to? Discover custom-made toys, amazing collection pictures, or let the kids have fun in our Coloring and Games section.
JPToys Files: Here, you will find all the data we found over the years about Jurassic Park toys. Looking for an unusual info, wanting to have a look at rare catalogs full of unproduced goodness? It's all here!
Feel free to browse the new website, and discover the new sections we've added for your viewing pleasure! And make sure to drop by the forums to tell us your impressions about this new website!
By Raptoralpha,
Wednesday 2 April 2008 at 08:08 PM
So, are you getting used to the new site yet, guys? I know that it'll take some time, but hey, it's still better than the April Fools design we had up on April 1st.
So, nothing earth-breaking for today, apart from a new review by Dilophoraptor for the Lost World Remote Control T-Rex. Make sure to take a look at it!
We also have a new poll for your voting pleasure. Feel free to let us know your impressions on the design!
Thanks to forum member 0thebigwytec5, you can now find pictures of several packaging variations, especially in the humans section from the first Jurassic Park series. But if you ever stumble on a variation not featured here, don't hesitate to contact us! You too can help JPToys to continue being the most complete site about Jurassic Park toys on the web!
So, as people lurking around the forums have noticed, two prototypes have recently been unearthed, and luckily for us, the owner (a well-known collector nicknamed Ajaythehunter) was kind enough to take a bunch of pictures for us to drool over. All these pictures have been added to the The Lost World Triceratops and the Chaos Effect Ultimasaurus individual pages. Feel free to take a look at these gems, and again, a big thanks to Ajaythehunter for his kindness!
Well, well, well, pictures of unreleased toys are raining, these days! Today, we are proud to present you several pictures of the unreleased Scutosaurus from the Jurassic Park Series 2 line, which were taken by forum member AlphaBrachio. He was kind enough to take big, pristine clear pics of his gem and send them our way for all the community to enjoy. A big thanks goes to him!
In other news, we are proud to welcome a new affiliate: Jack De La Mare's Jurassic Park 4 website! As usual, you can access it by clicking on the little icon on the right. So, make sure to make a little stop on this neat-looking new site!
Today's going to be regular forum member Roselaar's day. We have several interested bits of info to share, and they all come from him. So, here we go!
First, we have 31 new, great-quality reviews for you to enjoy, all by Roselaar. You can discover them in the Lost World and Chaos Effect dinosaurs sections!
Roselaar also uncovered some old catalogs from local Dutch toy stores featuring JP toys, and he was kind enough to scan them and send them our way. You can see what this kind of catalogs look here in Europe by going to our new Holland catalogs section.
And finally, some speculation about the unreleased Ornithosuchus with Dino Trapper... Roselaar recently reminded us about a strange eBay auction, which makes for a neat new point of interest about this elusive toy...
That's it for today, boys and girls! Have fun with this bunch of news, and stay tuned! We still have one or two small things in store...
Well, after last week's sad news, we have something much less depressing to pass along today: the first loose shots of the new Papo Allosaurus!
Thanks to forum member Freewee who was lucky enough to get one through the german seller Kinderlanddreieich and was kind enough to take pictures for us to enjoy, we can present you yet another JPToys exclusive. Feel free to take a look at the Papo Allosaurus page to take a closer look at this neat piece. Even though it's a bit less stellar than the prototype showed months ago, this collectible is as solid as we can expect for a Papo product, and will surely look great next to its fellow "Paposaurus"!
Well, long time no see, guys! I've been quite busy moving to a new flat last month, hence the lack of updates. But to make up for that, here's our latest Chap Mei gallery for your viewing pleasure. So, let me introduce you the new Stone Age Dinosaurs line!
This new gallery will be expended as more of them show up. And since they've been spotted in the U.S., if you find one not found in our archives, feel free to contact us! Also, speaking of Chap Mei, make sure to check out their latest Light and Sound dinos: the Velociraptor and the Spinosaurus, which can both be found in the Dino Valley 2 gallery. Enjoy!
Hello there! I hope your summer was okay, and that you can't wait to return to school/work/whatever your occupation may be. Nothing earth-shattering for today's news, but interesting stuff from our fandom.
We have had two new fan submissions recently: several dioramas from Dino Fool, which can be seen in her new gallery, as well as a lot (as in A LOT) of collection pictures from forum member Teddybier, who decided to take pics of each item he owns for our viewing pleasure. Feel free to check out his gallery, and have a detailed look at each of his 73 figures!
Quite a big news for today's update. For the first (well, second, actually) time ever, the elusive Ornithosuchus with Dino Trapper has appeared on eBay! This set was known since this series' release in 2000, being mentioned on some boxes, but so far, we had no idea what it looked like. But now that we have a picture of this set, and especially of the, might we say, "flamboyant" Dino Trapper, the reason why it wasn't released becomes quite obvious...
A big thanks goes to Lostworld4ever, Nix and Sjappie for telling us about the appearance on eBay of this gem. Make sure to take a look at this set's page to see more pictures and info about this toy!

So, after our latest ground-breaking news about the Ornithosuchus with Dino Trapper, how about some reading? Regular contributor Roselaar has written a huge lot of reviews, including the four last ones of the Chaos Effect line, and reviews for each toy in the first Jurassic Park line. Be sure to take a look at them!
Also from Roselaar, we have several pictures of European variations of human figures (by the way, notice how European Skinners and Dr. Snares were part of the "Dino-Raiders" instead of "Evil Raiders"), as well as supposedly US-only dinos like the Carnotaurus. Definitely worth a look. And did you know that some Alan Grant figures from the JP3 line wore two pants? Well, the factory error pictures sent by forum member 0thebigwytec5 proves it!
And finally, for those wanting to know more about the Ornithosuchus with Dino Trapper proto that showed up recently, stay tuned. More news about this gem coming soon.

We're happy to present you a new Ultimasaurus prototype that was recently unearthed by forum member Barbara22, from France. Simply by contacting Hasbro France, she had, with some patience, the opportunity to get in touch with someone from the US who had worked on the Chaos Effect line. And luckily for her, that person still had an Ultimasaurus prototype and was ready to sell it. And that's how Barbara22 could get her hand on this gem, and was kind enough to share great quality pictures of her find.
Two new close-ups (front view and back view) have been added on the Ultimasaurus page, as well as a bigger version of the picture seen below. Enjoy!
*UPDATE*: We've been told that these pictures aren't from an Ultimasaurus owned by forum member Barbara, but in fact were taken by toy designer Tim Bradley, who worked on the Chaos Effect line, and was kind enough to be interviewed by JPToys a few months ago. So, to give credits back to where it's due, thanks a lot for these pictures, Mr. Bradley!

Now, here's a great way to kick off Autumn 2008! JPToys was lucky enough to have the opportunity to acquire one sample of the gem that was discovered three weeks ago, and is now proud to present you several close-up shots from the Ornithosuchus with Dinosaur Trapper. Feel free to take a look at these high-definition pictures!
Also, we have two new galleries in the Fan's Corner to present you. First, a new collection gallery from Justin, with loads of rare, mint-in-box toys. And also up for your viewing pleasure, a custom gallery from long-time forum member Angelrex, which includes customs inspired by unproduced toys, hatchlings and juveniles inspired by well-known JP toys like Bull or Thrasher T-Rexes, and pure creations. Enjoy!

Hello there! Long time without any news, huh? But don't worry: today's update is going to make up for that.
Two test-shots from the canceled Night Hunter Series recently showed up on eBay: one from the Spinosaurus with Carr set, and the other from the Baryonyx with Ludlow playset. Only the two dinosaurs were for sale, without the human figure or any accessory. Still, they managed to fetch rather high prices ($570 for the Spino and $650 for the Bary), but weren't sold to the highest bidder, due to what looked like a huge reserve price (our sources mentioned a ridiculously overrated price of $4,500 each...). So, even though no one had the opportunity to buy these gems, we still have high quality pictures of both of them up for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!
In other news, Sideshow Collectibles finally posted boxed pictures of their first Jurassic Park diorama: the T-Rex Versus Velociraptors scene. They also revealed pictures of what appears to be the production version of this diorama, which shows a slightly less stellar paint job (which could be expected), and which also shows what the "When Dinosaurs Ruled The World" banner from the exclusive edition will look like. Little reminder: this set is due to start shipping by the end of October 2008, so this shouldn't take too long, now...
Another news from Sideshow is the announcement of their new line: Dinosauria. Nothing is known about this line, apart from the fact that it should include several pieces with a $200-$350 price tag for each (yikes!). The reveal of such a series is rather puzzling, considering they also own the Jurassic Park license which consists of, well, one piece so far. So, will this new line be the nail in the Jurassic Park Sideshow coffin? As always, time will tell...
So, stay tuned for more. We should soon have several new collection and diorama galleries up, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled!

Well, Sideshow Collectibles won't stop surprising us, apparently. Too bad it's a rather bitter surprise here. This company, which recently revealed the first item in its Dinosauria line, didn't seem to be JP-inclined anymore, but still, they revealed a "new" statue based on the Jurassic Park franchise: the T-Rex Versus Velociraptors : Faux Bronze edition, a simple repaint of the T-Rex Versus Velociraptors statue recently released...
Yes, a repaint. This dreaded habit we hoped we'd never see again... And to add to the disappointment, this "Faux-bronze" edition is $299.99, which is $50 more than the painted edition. Yes, less paint, but more expensive. But here's the catch: this edition is limited to 50 pieces worldwide, which makes it the rarest released Jurassic Park piece of merchandising ever (well, as far as I remember). Is it worth the extra price? Apparently, it was for 50 people...
So, feel free to take a look at this new statue's page, and to comment about it in our forums!

As Kevin said last time, we like to show what the Jurassic Park fan base is able to do. But today's news is going to be more toy related, with, first, this amazing Chaos Effect Euoplocephalus custom, inspired by the well-known unreleased toy, and created by forum member Dutchallosaur. You can see more pictures of this great piece of work in Dutchallosaur's thread over at the forum, and a video featuring this custom over here (yes, she even took the time to have a working action feature). Impressive work, isn't it?
Speaking of impressive (but size-wise, this time) works, check out this huge model created for a Haunted House attraction, and which is nothing less than a life-size Electronic Velociraptor, from the Lost World line. Now that's an attraction everyone would want to go to, huh?
So, it's finally confirmed. We have a new Jurassic Park toy line to drool over! Steve, ActionFigs.com Editor-In-Chief, recently got his hands over two publicity shots, both loose and packaged of the first Dino Battlers two-pack: Triceratops vs. Tyrannosaurus Rex. You can see both pictures over here: http://www.actionfigs.com/index.php?categoryid=61&p2_articleid=3023.
So, yes, they're indeed JP3 toys repaints, but we've got to admit that the new packaging is definitely striking, and much better than the last JP: Dinosaurs lines. It's very clear that Hasbro has put some time over this new line, so let's hope the rest won't disappoint!
As you know, the new Jurassic Park toyline has been delayed, and will only be released in August. So, what's the best way to kill time? To drool over new pictures! The good folks over at Actionfigs.com got their hands over several pictures of the four Dino Battlers packs, and two of the new Dino Trackers human/dinosaur set, and were kind enough to let us know about them. Make sure to take a look at their website to see these new sets in all their high-definition glory!
By the way, this brings an interesting point. Considering the "Dino Battlers" name is only used for the small two-packs, and not for the whole toy line, how could we name it? For the time being, we'll settle for Jurassic Park 2K9, but feel free to share any idea you might have on the forums. Also, the set we saw a picture of a month ago, the T-Rex/Trike one, seems to have been slightly repainted (yup, both sets share the same assortment number, so unless it's a variation...). For the better or worse, you decide!
Wow, we only have the time to post the news about these new JP2K9 pictures that the folks over at Actionfigs.com added several new ones on their website! So, we now know what the two other Dino Trackers sets look like, and also can lay our eyes upon the new electronic JP3 repaints: the Battle Growlers! So, make sure to take a look at Actionfigs.com to have a full-quality look at these brand new zany JP toys!
In other news, the JPToys staff wishes to congratulate forum member Angelrex53, which is the happy mother of a little Kairi, born on June 1th! Congrats, Angel!

Finally, a picture of what is supposed to be the last JP2K9 toy we were still waiting to see was released, over at Toyark.com (a big thanks goes to ChaosGhostHunter for letting us know). Most people expected the rumored new Electronic T-Rex to be yet another mere repaint of good ol' JP3 Ultra T-Rex, but boy were we wrong! This new Rex appears to be a retooled version of the enormous Bull T-Rex from the Lost World line, without the "open-belly" feature, but with poseable legs! Now, that's a huge surprise! And the cherry on the cake, the paintjob is very reminiscent of the infamous unreleased Gulper T-Rex. Nice tip of the hat from the designer here! So, kudos to Hasbro for this daring move!
Well, these ones saw the shelves a bit too early, but we're not gonna complain, right? Forum member Chaosghosthunter was lucky enough to stumble upon three brand new JP2009 Battle Growlers today. Here's what he had to say on the matter: The hunt is on I found these three Battle Growlers at Toys R Us just a few minutes ago. I live in the Bay Area of Califorina. The guy who works there said this was all they had right now but they are Reseting the store to make room for them when they come in.. He said it would happen in the next week or two.. They are 17.99 each USD.. So, they're indeed starting to show up in stores, so make sure to keep your eyes peeled!
This is also the right time to announce JPToys' latest gallery to this new line: Jurassic Park 2009. There, you will be able to find high-quality pictures of these new gems. Enjoy!

Hey folks! A lot of news today! First, that's it, Hasbro finally announced the release of the new JP2K9 line! Well, they've been out for a while now, but still, it's good to know they advertise this line a bit. And to see that they are aware of the Jurassic Park fan base. Read on:
PAWTUCKET, R.I., August 25, 2009 -- Hasbro, Inc. (NYSE:HAS) has announced plans to unleash the legendary dinosaurs from Universal Pictures’ Jurassic Park, one of the most powerful franchises in motion picture history. This fall, under a licensing agreement with Universal Partnerships & Licensing, Hasbro plans to launch a new action figure line based on the film’s prehistoric predators exclusively at Toys“R”Us stores across the country.
“Jurassic Park is one of the most successful film franchises of all time and has a passionate fan base,” said Derryl DePriest, Vice President of Marketing at Hasbro. “Dinosaurs are also tremendously popular with kids, and Jurassic Park is the mark of authenticity when it comes to realistic and exciting dinosaur play.”
“Since the dinosaurs of Jurassic Park first stomped onto movie screens more than 15 years ago, they’ve captured kids’ imaginations,” said Karen Dodge, Senior Vice President, Chief Merchandising Officer, Toys“R”Us. “There is no better place to find toys based on kids’ favorite characters than Toys“R”Us, and we’re excited to be the only retailer to offer kids and collectors official Jurassic Park action figures.”
“Jurassic Park remains the quintessential dinosaur brand,” said Stephanie Sperber, Executive Vice President, Universal Partnerships & Licensing. “The movies still rank as one of the top five trilogies of all time, and with Hasbro and Toys“R”Us behind the line, we know there will be great demand for the product. We truly have a winning combination on our hands.”
Hasbro’s Jurassic Park product line will be available exclusively at Toys“R”Us stores beginning this fall, featuring authentic dinosaur action figures in various sizes, such as:
Jurassic Park Basic Dinosaur Two-Pack Assortment
Now, kids can assemble their own dino army with this collection of authentic Jurassic Park dinosaurs! With two dinosaurs in each pack, this assortment allows children to create amazing dinosaur adventures.
Ages: 4 & up; No batteries required
Jurassic Park Deluxe Dinosaur and Figure Assortment
Each deluxe two-pack in this assortment comes with a dinosaur and a “Dino Tracker” action figure that is equipped with an accessory that lets them track their prey. Now, kids can determine who will win the hunt –dinosaurs or humans.
Ages: 4 & up; No batteries required
Jurassic Park Electronic Dinosaur Assortment
The battle is coming! These fully articulated dinosaurs battle each other and have “dino-damage” to show for it. Each dinosaur lets out a fierce roar when kids activate its individual attack action. To create a more realistic battle, kids can also press the “dino-damage” to hear the dinosaur howl.
Ages: 4 & up; 3 “A76” or “LR44” Alkaline batteries required (included)
Jurassic Park Deluxe Electronic T-Rex
The king of the dinosaurs has arrived! This massive T-Rex comes to life with multiple growls, roars and howls and even a “bone crunching” sound effect for when it eats its prey. Additionally, its motion activated stomping sounds are sure to strike fear into humans and other dinosaurs alike. This giant dinosaur comes with a “Dino Tracker” action and a weapon that really fires. As an added bonus, the back of the box has an illustration that can be cut out and assembled into an off-road vehicle.
Ages: 4 & up; 3 “AAA” batteries required (included)
Speaking of the new Deluxe Electronic Rex, new pictures and details of it have surfaced recently on Actionfigs.com. It appears that the final paint job is darker than what was already showed, but still highly reminiscent of the unreleased Gulper T-Rex. But, as said in the press release, it also features stomping sounds, and as seen in the new loose picture, ball-jointed feet! Yup, that's a first for a Jurassic Park dinosaur!
Also on Actionfigs.com, loose shots of all the JP2K9 toys are been released. And pictures of the package back of most of them have been taken by forum members DemonCarnotaur, Raptorgrrl and Jack De La Mare, as well as a diorama shot of the Battle Growler Velociraptor by Angelrex53. All these pictures can be found in the new Jurassic Park 2K9 section.
And finally, JPToys staff's prayers go to the family of forum member Samuel Mc Gowan, better known as JPdude. He was a well-respected member in our forums, and a good friend who left us way too early. May he rest in peace.

That's it, the new big Tyrannosaurus Rex from the Jurassic Park 2K9 line has been released! Several forum members have reported that it has started to appear in various TRU's in the US, for the retail price of $49,99. One of them, Jpraptor, was kind enough to take a picture of the back of its box, which has now been added to the Rex's page. It is now confirmed that this gem has new sounds apart from the old Bull T-Rex ones, like a new stomping sound, as well as a redesigned torso, with new speakers and a battery compartment in place of the "belly-slit" found on the previous versions.
So, make sure to get it if you find it! Happy hunting, everyone!

Yup, you read it right: Jurassic Park 2K10. Of course, for the time being, these are only rumors, but still, from what we know, 2010 is shaping up to be a great (if expensive) year for Jurassic Park figures collectors! Here's the juicy bit: a few days ago, a reliable source revealed that there are few new sculpts that have been worked on for the next JP toy line, which should be released in 2010. Yes, new sculpts! Of course, for privacy reasons, he couldn't reveal which dinosaurs are going to appear in this new line, but he could still tell us that the line isn't just repaints and the new sculpts will be VERY easy to spot amidst the many repainted older figures, or that there will be plenty of new dino figures as well as (much improved) new humans, but that although the new figures are vastly superior to what has come out in the past, they could still be more accurate. And to the questions about the presence of new vehicles: "However I can answer this question, though I don't want to give away too much. Let just say it is a full line of toys- everything you would expect from a Hasbro boy's toy line. ". Excited yet? I know I am.
In other news, we recently could settle the brown/orange T-Rex debate about the JP2K9 Trike/T-Rex 2-pack. It is indeed a true variation, and not just a prototype/released figure matter. Both versions can be found in the US and in Europe, so, variation hunters, you know what to do.
And, finally, much to everyone's surprise, it appears that Papo released a new dinosaur: the Oviraptor. It was found by forum member Macularius on a french website called Eveil Et Jeux. Forum moderator Dutchallosaur took her chance, ordered one, and recently received it. A picture of it can be found on this toy's new page. Enjoy!

So, it looks like 2010 is definitely shaping up to be a great year for Jurassic Park collectors! Forum member Rabidrex recently posted some info about the Revoltech Expo in Japan, where well-known Japanese brand Kaiyodo revealed their 2010 line-up. And yup, a T-Rex from Jurassic Park is among these new toys! For all the people who have wanted a well-articulated T-Rex for year, look no further, this one is gonna deliver. The only "downside" is its size: approximately 2.5" tall and about 6" long head to tail. But still, it's going to be a great piece of collectible to own. Check this link for a good view of the T-Rex prototype!
In other news, forum member Quetzalcoatlus, well known on our forums for the amazing customs made by a friend of his, Roberto, showed us the latest creation of his buddy: a custom of the unreleased TLW series 2 Triceratops! And boy, is this custom drool-worthy! And it also features removable dino-damage piece, and movable legs! Indeed, one awesome piece to own. You can see more pictures of this gem in Quetzalcoatlus' thread on the forums. Enjoy!

Well, after a rather long drought from Papo for 2009, looks like they decided to redeem themselves! After the recent reveal of their new Oviraptor, Papo released a catalog picture of their latest creation: the Pachyrhinosaurus! Yet another little-known, unusual animal turned into a piece of art by this french company. Indeed, it's not inspired by any Jurassic Park dinosaur, but still, it looks too good for any collector to pass on. For your viewing pleasure, we added a new page for this awesome figure. Stay tuned for more pictures as they surface!
In other news, we have a huge batch of no less than 33 new reviews from our great reviewer and forum member Roselaar! This time, he took care of the whole Jurassic Park Series 2 line, as well as a few left-overs from the Lost World and Chaos Effect lines. So, a big thanks goes to Roselaar! Good read!

Is there a best way to start a new year than with new Papo figures? Forum member Macularius recently discovered over at Dan's Dinosaurs two pictures of what appear to be a "new" Velociraptor, as well as a Plesiosaurus from Papo. So, yup, looks like we're going to have a grand total four new Paposaurs to add to our collection for 2010! Even though it's a bit disappointing to see that this Velociraptor is just a repaint of the one released in 2005, we have to admit that this new paint job is interesting indeed, as well as very similar to the Velociraptors' colors in Jurassic Park 3. No release date is known for the time being.

Well, it looks like 2010 may indeed be quite a big year for Jurassic Park! Forum member DemonCarnotaur recently posted pictures of small "super-deformed" dinosaur figures, a Pteranodon and a Stegosaurus, both very similar to what was seen in the short-lived Jurassic Park Junior line released nine years ago. These toys belong to the owner of the AWE Striker vehicles we talked about last month, so they are more than probably official. For the time being, we don't have the confirmation that these two are indeed from a new Jurassic Park Jr line, but, as usual, time will tell.
Speaking of the AWE Strikers, forum member Wildweasel posted many pictures of both variations over at our forums. You can check them out in this thread. Will they be released? Do they really belong to the Jurassic Park line? We'll find out soon enough - maybe at the 2010 Toy Fair, which starts on February 14 at New York. Stay tuned!

Nothing ground-breaking for today, but still, something interesting for those who are still missing some figures from the JP2K9 line! Toys 'R Us is selling all JPToys 25% off this week, so, if you were waiting for them to be cheaper, or just to get some doubles, it's time to hit the stores!
In other news, JPToys founder Dan told us that the latest issue of Lee's Toy Review (#206) had a write up on the JP toy franchise. Nothing much too note but it did include a full page dedicated to the latest average values. So, if one of our readers happens to pick this book up and agrees to tell us more about its content, it would be extremely appreciated!
Wow, this is indeed quite an unexpected story we bring you today! We recently received info from a video game company called "Fool Proof" about a new game currently being made, and loosely based on the Chaos Effect toy line: "Jurassic Park Chaos Effect Unleashed"! Yup, you read it right. 2010 is definitely going to be a big year for Jurassic Park! Fool Proof didn't reveal a lot about their game, but apparently, they're going to use the "genetically mutated dinos on the loose" plot from the old toy line. And indeed, the box art shows a lot about their vision of the Chaos Effect universe. The "Teen" rating is a bit strange, but after all, why not? It's better to have a game made for everyone than no game at all.
So, stay tuned for more about this very exciting project. And meanwhile, feel free to discuss this news on our forums!
Update: Yup, as most of you guessed it, this news was indeed a good old April's Fools prank (hence the Fool Proof company logo). The art is originally from VyToR, a DeviantART artist from Mexico. Make sure to check out his awesome art! And stay tuned for "real" news, this time.
Apparently, some people never learn... Following our article posted on Sunday 25 April 2010, warning potential buyers of Julian, a scammer from Germany trying to sell a custom Desert Spinosaurus and a custom Tropical Raptor while claiming them to be the real deal, it appears that our dear Julian tried to scam unsuspecting buyers on eBay, as you can see here: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330439255993&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:DE:1123
Julian followed our "advice" by adding a clumsy-made JP tag, but, how low can you get, also decided to steal JPToys' banner graphic and add it to this auction, as well as all his other auctions. Of course,eBay has been contacted about this, considering that stealing graphics from a website for commercial purpose is legally considered as misdemeanor, but meanwhile, eBayers, beware of this jul-ben seller... Big thanks goes to Jannis, who alerted us about this.
One has to be up to date with evolution, huh? So yup, we finally created an official JPToys group on Facebook. You can join it through here: JPToys on Facebook.
In this group, you'll be able to upload pictures of your collections, custom figures, or dioramas for the whole world to see. And it will be easier to find and have social interaction with other JP toys fans worldwide. So, what are you waiting for? Join today!

Hi guys! In today's news, we are glad to show you Papo's first 2011 addition: the Styracosaurus! After 2010's Pachyrhinosaurus, it looks like this French company has decided to stay focused on ceratopsians. But next year's delivery appears to be quite the opposite of his 2010 big "brother": where the Pachyrhinosaurus was bland colored and with a rather calm pose, this new dinosaur uses most vivid colors, and a dynamic pose somehow reminiscent of Sideshow's rendition of this beast. So, be sure to check your specialized toy stores and museums next year! Big thanks goes to forum member Mäcùlãrìüš for the heads up.
Hey folks! No big news for today, but something that many collectors have long been waiting for: JPToys' price guide has finally been updated! A huge thanks goes to staff member Roselaar who spent a long time working on a up-to-date guide. This was indeed long overdue, considering the guide hadn't been updated for several years... So feel free to cruise around the site and see how much you really should be expecting to pay in order to get these little plastic wonders.
In other news, we also uploaded dozens of new pictures in the toy database, including many loose pictures (taken by fellow administrator Dutchallosaur) of items we only had packaged pics of, and variations, errors and other stuff submitted by our great forum members. Thanks to all of you, guys! You really help making JPToys the best Jurassic Park toys website on the internet.
Finally, you may have noticed we had a lot of changes in our staff recently. So, feel free to check our updated Staff page to meet JPToys' new faces!

Hey, gang! As recently uncovered by staff member Roselaar and by Dan, from DansDinosaurs.com, Papo revealed their latest creation, scheduled for 2012: the Tylosaurus! Like it or hate it, but that retro (who said outdated?) design will definitely fit with their previous aquatic critter, the Plesiosaurus. So, as usual, you should be able to find this new creature in stores around summer 2012.
Hey there! Today, we present you much needed updates on the website. First, you'll be able to see the two 2013 entries in the ever-growing Papo prehistoric animals collection: the Carnotaurus, and the Dimetrodon! Papo definitely didn't disappoint this year, and leave us, as usual, expecting for their next gems.
Another wanted update was the inclusion of the latest "JP: 3D" line on the website. Considering that most of this line is virtually identical to the Jurassic Park 2009 line, we decided to include them in that section. The repacks have been included in their "older brothers" pages, as seen here, for example, and the two new sculpts have been given their own pages in the Dinosaurs section. Enjoy!
And in other news, we present you, on behalf of our very own Anonymous contributor, never-seen-before concept art for some of Kenner's potential ideas for further expanding the infamous Lost World toy line. You can find a lot more information about this "lost" line, as well as several sketches, on this thread in our forums. So, yup, more than 15 years later, there's always some new info to be discovered about our favorite toy line!
Hey folks! Today, we've got another proof that even after more than 15 years, you can still discover new things about unreleased toys from old Jurassic Park lines. We present you, on behalf of our long-time contributor and resident "toy detective" DemonCarnotaur, a new concept art for a figure planned for the Lost World Series 2 line: the "Scout Hunter" with "Blood Hound Carno".
Indeed, as many people mentioned, this figure is rather reminiscent of the video game character Turok, but still, it would have made quite a unique and exciting new concept in the JP universe!
In other news, what we tentatively consider to be the Jurassic Park 4 logo (or maybe a place-holder logo, time will tell) has recently been revealed, along with the confirmation that JP4 will indeed be released in 2015. Patience is a virtue, but considering that we've been waiting since 2001, heck, what's two more years? Also, a summary of JP4's story has been posted on a well-known movie website, JoBlo (spoilers, obviously). It's still a bit early to consider this to be exactly what the movie will be about, especially with all the rewrites currently happening, but can you imagine what kind of cool toys we'll be having if they follow this story? 2015 can't come soon enough! And meanwhile, stay tuned!

Hey folks! It's been a while since our last update, but trust us, this one is huge. We are pleased to present you the first pictures of the Jurassic World toy line, by Hasbro! Still, a little disclaimer first.
These images were not leaked from any internal sources from or related to Hasbro or any of its affiliates. All content was shared with us from public sources. We support Universal completely and would not leak anything that was confidential intentionally and we support the film maker's wishes as well! This is why you'll see some items blurred out in these pictures. When they will be publicly shown at Toy Fair, for example, we will make sure to share them with you. But meanwhile, you don't want to spoil yourself too much, right?
Also, it's important to know that these are only preproduction items, and therefore are bound to change or be upgraded by Hasbro before their release. So, true, some of them look rather crude, but we should wait until pictures of the final products are released before jumping to conclusions.
First, here's the latest listing of what we know should be released in this line, along with their planned prices (always good to know how much we're all going to have to save up in order to get these goodies). Note that the items in bold are the ones we currently have pictures of. So yup, there's still a lot that is to be revealed:
Jurassic World Mega Strike T-Rex - B2875 - $34.99
Jurassic World “Bad Boy” Indominus Rex - B1276- $34.99
Jurassic World T. rex- B0537 - $29.99
Jurassic World T-Rex Playset - B3755 - $29.99
Jurassic World Capture Vehicle Asst-B1423 - $21.99
Jurassic World DLX Vehicle Asst- B0534 -$21.99
Jurassic World Chomping Rex - B1156 - $19.99
Jurassic World Game- B0858 - $19.99
Jurassic World Growlers Asst- B1633 - $14.99
Jurassic World SFX Chomper Dino- B0538 - $14.99
Jurassic World Giant Raptor Asst - B1139 - $12.99
Jurassic World 7inch plush Asst - B250 - $9.99
Jurassic World Tracker Dino Asst- B0531 - $9.99
Jurassic World Basher Biter Asst - B1271 - $9.99

Bashers & Biters
Bashers & Biters Spinosaurus
Growlers
Growlers Dimorphodon
Giant Raptors
Capture Vehicles
Chomping Rex
"Bad Boy" Indominus Rex
So, as you can see, there is a lot planned, way more than for the JP3 line, for example. And yup, after years of waiting, an adult Ankylosaurus, a Ceratosaurus, and more important, no repaints from the previous JP lines! A big thanks goes to our members ChrisLikesDinos and AnonymousContributor for managing to dig up all these juicy infos! Of course, that's only a partial reveal, but there's a lot more waiting! Indeed, we're in for a treat this year! And in the name of the whole JPToys staff, I wish you a (late) Happy New Year! Stay tuned!

Hey folks! Now that Jurassic World is getting closer and closer, we sure aren't going to be in any shortage of news! Here's the latest: the first pictures of boxed samples from the JW line have been made public, and here they are for you to feast your eyes upon (including a newcomer previously hidden in our last news: the Stegoceratops)!
Basher T-Rex
Basher Spinosaurus
Basher Ankylosaurus
Basher Stegoceratops
Growler "Blue"
Growler Dimorphodon
Giant "Charlie"
Giant "Delta"
Giant "Echo"
Chomping T-Rex
As you can see, this line appears to be a hit and miss so far. Items like the (long-awaited) Ankylosaurus or Stegoceratops (neat wink to Chaos Effect there, Hasbro!) look very good, while others look even worse than what we've seen in the JP3 line (I'm looking at you, Zombie Spino). Also, unconfirmed news we've received revealing that no human figures, apart from generic 2,5 inch tall no-name troopers, will be released, or the fact that the Giant (or Titan) class Raptors (see Delta and Echo above? That's them) won't sport the trademark Raptor claw on their feet, make the fanbase a bit uneasy about the direction this line is taking, but remember that we haven't seen all of this line, and after all, maybe the NY Toy Fair (starting this week-end) will have some surprises for us! In any case, we at JPToys will continue to give you the latest news in Jurassic Park/world toy collecting!

Hey folks! Told you the news would keep on arriving! Today, we're happy to present you the first (official) look at the Indominus Rex, through Hasbro publicity photos released for the US Toy Fair (which starts today). And if that wasn't enough, you can also feast your eyes on the Stomp & Strike (previously known as Mega-Strike) Rex, as well as the first aquatic reptile released in a Jurassic Park line: the Mosasaurus! These pictures also reveal Hasbro's new way of dealing with dino-damage cover. As you can see on the vehicle vs. dino sets, the wound cover can now slide to reveal the dino's insides, a great way not to lose the skin piece (and that happened to ALL of us before). You can also see better pictures of previously-seen figures, like the Allosaurus (with an updated and much better looking head), the Dilophosaurus (with a functional frill, finally!), or the Ceratosaurus, sporting its JP3 colors. Enjoy!
Basher Allosaurus
Basher Pachycephalosaurus
Growler Dilophosaurus
Growler Ceratosaurus
Copter vs. Pteranodon
Submarine vs. Mosasaurus
Gyrosphere vs. Indominus Rex
T-Rex Lockdown Playset
Stomp & Strike T-Rex
Indominus Rex
So yeah, while we can be disappointed about the lack of licensed character human figures, this new line shows a lot of potential. We'll see if that quality will remain on what we see in the stores, starting in May, and also, we don't know what else is to be discovered, like that rumor about 5 new Dino Showdown packs being released. In any case, the future is (finally) getting bright for us, JP collectors! Stay tuned
Hey folks! It's been a while, but in the JP/JW toy collecting world, a lot happened! Since last update, TV spots and trailer for Jurassic World were released, toys and exclusives were discovered, and yup, the first JW figures are starting to see the shelves all over the world! So, indeed, there's a lot of controversy about the quality (or lack of, in some cases) of this new line, but hey, after years of drought, it's great to see new life being injected in our little collecting world! And meanwhile, here at JPToys, we're currently working under wraps in order to add news JW sections, as well as a few other surprises. So, sorry for the lack of updates, but it's for the best, as they say!
For today's news, though, we have a few interesting pictures to show you! First, Hasbro revealed the first repaints of the JW line, and... let's say that the colors are surprising (imagine if they had shown that on April 1st?). The new Stegoceratops is okay, but that Rex looks like Mountain Dew bottles were the only beverage available in its paddock. Thankfully, the packaged versions of the Ceratosaurus and the new Dilo make up for that. Enjoy!
Basher Stegoceratops repaint
Basher T-Rex repaint
Growler Dilophosaurus
Growler Ceratosaurus
So, stay tuned for our future updates! You won't be disappointed!
Hey folks! This is it, the Jurassic World movie has finally, after 14 years of development, been released worldwide! Have you already seen it? Once or several times? Here at JPToys, we sure hope you did enjoy yourself. And in order to celebrate Jurassic World's release, we've finally unleashed the new Jurassic World sections!
You'll be able to see everything Hasbro has to offer, all four lines of them! Want to see what's new in the Classic line? Try your hand at becoming Dr Wu and create the ultimate hybrid in the Hero Mashers section? Miss the JP Junior toy line and want to discover Playskool's new offerings? Or maybe just play with toys after playing with Ludia's Jurassic World: The Game? The Brawlasaurs section is there for you.
Enjoy these new sections, and stay tuned! There's still more Jurassic World (and Park) goodness to be revealed and included in JPToys' database!
Hey folks! Today, we present you our new section, the dinosaur Repaints section! Ever wondered how many times some figures have been repainted? Want to compare the repaints to the original? Head over to our new section and see pictures of every repaint released so far. Always interesting to see how a different paintjob can change a figure. A huge "Thank you" goes to old-time forum member Stitch for taking the time to take all these pics for you to enjoy!
Also, as you may know, the last Jurassic World figures have recently been released, putting an end to this line. But what's next, you may ask? Well, nothing concrete yet, but several rumors are mentioning a 2016 line called "Jurassic World Hybrids" (no, nothing to do with the infamous JP Dinosaurs Hybrids line released many years ago). So far, nothing is known about this new line, but considering the big success of this years's line, it's no wonder Hasbro wants to continue to surf on the Jurassic World wave. We'll see if it's a good or a bad thing!
So, enjoy this new section, and stay tuned for more info as soon as we uncover it!
Hey folks! What's the best way to start 2016? By discovering what the new Jurassic World Hybrid (or Dino Hybrid, according to the packaging) line will look like, of course! Thanks to ChrisLikesDinos, we have our first look at the Hybrid FX T-Rex, a retool of last year's Chomping Rex, packing a few new tricks: along with the chomping attack, this figure now has roaring sounds, and, as you can see, huge spikes sprouting out of its back, not unlike Chaos Effect's Amargospinus, all for (reportedly) the same price than the original toy. Like it? Hate it? At least, Hasbro didn't stop at a mere repaint and went the extra mile to retool this figure. We'll see what the rest of the line will look like, especially with recently uncovered figures like the Pteraminus, which have been added to the list below. Enjoy!

This is it, the end of an era. For the first time since the release of the first Jurassic Park, future JP toys won't be produced by Hasbro (who absorbed Kenner in 2000) anymore, but by Mattel...
Back on Monday 18th, everyone was taken aback by an announcement by Brian Goldner, CEO of Hasbro, as reported by CNBC, as you can read here:
“We have had a many year relationship with Universal; we will no longer handle â€Jurassic Park’ because they are unable to arrive at a mutually beneficial financial arrangement on that brand.”
Even though rumors of a Raptor Squad and a classic JP line planned for 2017 were starting to hit the web, and even reports of Hasbro already starting to work on the Jurassic World 2 line, things would not go as expected. The main reason for this license loss was apparently much lower sales on the 3rd and 4th quarter of 2015 (then again, when you see the very few new figures released and the overall quality of what was on the shelves back then, it could be expected). Still, while this came off as a surprise, many fans actually rejoiced when this was announced, which can easily be understandable when you look at the lackluster treatment of the JP brand by Hasbro for many years (some would say since 2001...).
And the very next day, an official announcement was made by Chris Sinclair, Mattel's Chairman and CEO:
We are honored that NBCUniversal chose Mattel to help bring the Jurassic World brand to life, and we look forward to developing multiple new lines of innovative, engaging toys and products. Spanning three decades of sustained worldwide popularity, few entertainment properties have so successfully captured the collective imagination of millions of fans around the world, and we are delighted to be a part of this truly evergreen franchise.
Vince Klaseus, President of NBC-Universal Brand Development, also spoke about the matter:
We are looking forward to collaborating with Mattel and broadening Jurassic World products worldwide. The appetite for the franchise globally is stronger than ever with consumers wanting more. Mattel's global support, creativity and category approach to expand our franchise makes them the best choice to partner with for this brand, bringing innovation, technology and a host of new ways to play. Jurassic World is more than awe-inspiring blockbuster films, it's a brand that has been reaching consumers for more than twenty years on everything from video games, toys and apparel, to theme park attractions and live events. Our focus for the franchise is to continue to collaborate with best-in-class partners as we build and expand this iconic property into a mega-brand across our Universal platforms.
So there you have it: Mattel will inherit the JP license on July 2017, with their first products planned to hit shelves early 2018. Obviously, it's still too early to know what will happen with the current Dino Hybrid line (which currently only has three items released so far and is plagued with total lack of brand support and catastrophic distribution), and to the rumored Raptor Squad and Classic lines. Will Hasbro try to milk the license while they still own it? Time will tell... And as far as Mattel goes, while their previous offerings were hit or miss, their latest lines (Ghostbusters, DC Multiverse, ...) are mostly appreciated by toy collectors, and Mattel has an history of good relationship with fans and adult collectors (the Master of the Universe toy line comes to mind), so we think we can remain optimistic about what the future has in store for us, JP collectors. And we're sure that at least, they will realize that it's normal for a Velociraptor figure to have sickle claws...

Hey folks! Today (well, yesterday) was the day JPtoys fans have been waiting for since 1997: we finally have a new toyline worthy of what Kenner did in the Lost World line, and dare I say it, a toyline that is better than the TLW line in many aspects. Bold statement, I know, but here, take a look at this small preview of what we can expect from this line:
Yup, what you seeing is real: giant Mosasaurus, 3" 3/4 figures (including, yes, an Alan Grant figure from the first movie), dinos in scale with the human figures, new vehicles (including a RC Gyrosphere), new species and older ones that definitely needed an update (I'm looking at you, '94 Gallimimus). This alone would have been a dream line when Hasbro owned the license. So, can you believe that this picture shows a very small part of what Mattel has in store for us, including a 3 feet long Super Colossal T-Rex, big vehicles, a classic line inspired by the first movie (the Alan Grant figure seen above comes from that line), an Herrerasaurus confirmed by Universal to be designed after the Telltale game version of this animal, obscure species never seen before in the various JP lines (Suchomimus, Protoceratops, Minmi, and many more), super-articulated figures (ball-jointed arms and legs on dinos, and an Indoraptor with over 15 points of articulation? Indeed!), an awesome packaging which pays homage to the first movie line, and many more? And to think word on the street has it that Mattel had to rush this line and couldn't spend as much time in Research & Development as they would have liked (hence the huge feet several figures sadly sport), we can only wonder what the following years will bring us, if this line is a success. And we're sure it will be.
As we mentioned above, a selection of items from this new line were shown yesterday during the Universal Pictures Toy Fair preview day event, where our good friend Chris Pugh, from Jurassic Outpost, was present and managed to take hundreds of pictures (which you can see on their Facebook page). He also uploaded a very cool video, which gives you an nice overview of what was shown:
Feeling the excitement yet? We know we do! After years of having to settle with sub-par quality toys and total lack of new ones for several years, we can say that Mattel is a true blessing for our small collecting world. And it's just the beginning... To give you an idea of how much Mattel is leaps and bounds beyond Hasbro, we uploaded Hasbro's (hopefully) last line in our database: the Dino Hybrid line. It speaks for itself...
Also, NY Toy Fair is just getting started, and many more new items will be shown in the following days. Stay tuned for our next article, which will be a complete checklist of every Mattel figure, with loose and boxed pictures when available. It will give you a sense of how large this new line is. Trust us, we're all going to be so broke...

Hey folks! What a crazy week-end, heh? And it's not over yet! After the reveal of Mattel's awesome new line, here's a much needed checklist of everything known or rumored to be released this year. This list focuses on Mattel's 3"3/4 offerings, and thus doesn't include their other lines like Matchbox, Imaginext, or miscellaneous items and sub-lines. But trust us, with over one hundred items planned, there's more than enough here to feast your eyes upon. Each figure or set includes its planned release wave (W1 being mid-april, W2 = summer and W3 = fall) and production number. Of course, since many of these figures are only rumored, this list may end up being slightly incorrect, but the vast majority of it shouldn't be. We also included pictures of what was currently shown, included boxed shots when available. Credits goes to Jurassic Outpost's very own Chris Pugh, Toyark, and La Boutique Du Dinosaure for their great pictures! Also, for those interested, here is a .doc version of this checklist. Feel free to use it!
Hey folks! If you thought 2018 was already hurting your wallet too much, well, 2019 is shaping up to be no different. As you can see below, the first pictures from Mattel's line-up for next year have been revealed on 4chan, and what can be seen is rather...interesting. We can see several items from a new "Savage Strike" line, including a Dimetrodon (from the 2018 Destructasaurs line, which is still unreleased to this day), brand new Tapejara and Styracosaurus (a species long overdue) figures, as well as repacks and retools from the 2018 line.
Also revealed were two figures from a "Dual Action" line: a Stegosaurus repaint/retool with rather funky colors, and what appears to be a Therizinosaurus with a great body, and a totally inaccurate head sculpt (unless it's a Therizi/Raptor hybrid, of course).
And finally, a new big T-Rex was shown, with what appears to be a thrashing tail action feature. Hope you still have some space after the four (six if you count the Battle Damage versions) big Rexes released this year!
So, there you have it for now! Of course, these are preliminary versions of what we'll see next year (to give you an idea of how different released items can be, take a look at these Roarivores early prototypes from this year's line), so expect some changes! We will of course keep you updated as more is revealed, so stay tuned!
Hey folks! While Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is slowly seeing release around the globe, for those who didn't have the opportunity to see it yet, is there a better way to spend time than by reading the first ever book about the various Jurassic Park/World toylines and collectibles, written by Belgian collector (and personal friend) Kristof Thijs? This 96 pages book goes through the whole Kenner/Hasbro era (from 1993 to 2016), with chapters focusing on the main lines and including full-color pictures and many details about these lines we all love. A definitive must-have for every JP collector or fan around the globe, strongly recommended by yours truly.
The Jurassic Park dinosaurs were unleashed on the world in 1993. Just like the flock of Gallimimus swarming over the plains of Isla Nublar, the movie took the world by storm, making it the highest grossing movie of its time. A popular toy line by Kenner was released along with the movie, followed by many other products bearing the Jurassic Park logo and JP initials. Store shelves were filled with action figures, dinosaur models and hundreds of other products, from bedsheets to potato crisps. Between 1997 and 2015, three more Jurassic Park movies were released, each with their own distinctive toys and collectibles, each time bigger, better and with more teeth. Jurassic Park Collectibles spares no expense in taking you back in time to the early 90s for a nostalgic twenty-five year time travel through the history of collecting Jurassic Park. Hold on to your hats for a collection 65 million years in the making.
Kristof Thijs's book can be bought now on the publisher's site: Amberley Publishing, or if you're a bit patient, will be released on Amazon on 1st August. Don't miss out, and stay tuned!
Hey folks! As most of you may know, the annual San Diego Comic Con is currently taking place. And of course, Mattel has a big stand in order to promote their Jurassic World line, showing most of what has been released so far, as well as a few yet-to-be-released figures, including a new 6 inches collector series, planned to be released during Fall 2019! This new line was totally unexpected, and raises a lot of hope from fans, as well as some fears that, by splitting the line, Mattel may make the same mistake as Hasbro for their Star Wars line, and lower the overall quality of their brand, especially the 3 3/4" main line. But we need to remember that Mattel definitely isn't Hasbro (the 2018 line speaks for itself), and Mattel representatives were quickly to reassure fans by explaining that this new collector line would be rather small and that the main focus will remain on the historical 3 3/4" line. So, let's keep our hopes up, and marvel at the first three figures revealed: Owen Grady, Blue, and fan-favorite Ian Malcolm from the first JP movie:
But of course, Mattel didn't stop at this reveal, and gave us sneak-peeks at what kind of treats await us for 2019, and trust us, this line shows no sign of slowing down. We'll of course have new human figures to collect (a new Franklin Webb, pictured below, was shown, and there was even a small hint at a potential John Hammond figure), and they confirmed that we'll see 16 new dinosaur species, including a Styracosaurus (a 3D representation was shown, and you can see the figure itself in our "2019 line-up leaked" article), as well as silhouettes of two new full-sized sauropod (unlike JP3's Brachiosaurus or Chaos Effect's Amargospinus): an Action Attack-sized Amargasaurus, as well as, after 25 years of waiting, a Brachiosaurus figure, which appears to be around 2 feet tall and 3 feet long! Yup, you read that right! And if that wasn't enough, word on the street has it that we should be seeing species like Parasaurolophus, Coelurus, Dracorex, Rhamphorhynchus, Plesiosaurus, and of course the Indominus Rex. Better starting to organize your shelves in order to make space for all these new critters!

Hey folks, it's been a while! As you know, the 2019 New York Toy Fair came and went, and even though it was rather underwhelming, considering the few new items that were shown, it didn't stop Mattel from stealing the show with their long rumored Indominus Rex being finally fully revelead! Besides, many people were expecting to see the giant Legacy Brachiosaurus shown during that show, but even though it wasn't present in "person", Mattel was quick to post online a picture of this magnificient beast in all of its glory, along with the good news that even if the Legacy line is a Target exclusive, they were going to try and release it worldwide in the regular line. Good news for us overseas collectors! You can see these new figures, both expected to be released during Fall, as well as many others, in our 2019 checklist right below. You know the drill, many of these figures being unconfirmed, this list may end up being slightly incorrect, but the vast majority of it shouldn't be. And you can find a doc. version of this checklist right here!. A huge thanks goes to our friends at Jurassic Outpost, as well as Collect Jurassic for many of these pictures. Check their website out! It's regularly updated with the hottest news and is a pleasure to use.
Hey folks. We are very sad to report the passing of the creator of The Jurassic Park Collection Youtube channel, Prehistoric Land restaurant owner, JPToys forum moderator and long-time friend Astrid Vega, a.k.a Grincha, who left us on Friday, July 5, due to health reasons. A lively girl, an honest and cheerful person, she was an important part of the JP collecting community, and will be sorely missed. All our thoughts and prayers go to her family in these difficult times, but we know she will always be there, in the heart of every collector who had the luck to be in contact with her. Astrid, we'll all miss you...

Hey folks! As some of you know (and some of you even own it - if you don't, you should. ), a visual guide history for the Jurassic Park trilogy was released last year by‎ Insight Editions, and it was a blast to read through (especially knowing that my friend and JPToys' co-admin Jennie Wood had the opportunity to work as an advisor on it). Well, they're at it again, and the official Jurassic World: The Ultimate Visual History will see release on September 2022. Better yet, thanks to Insight Editions, we can present to you the first HD look at this book's cover, sporting fan favorites Blue and Beta from Jurassic World Dominion. This book will offer an in-depth look at the making of the Jurassic World trilogy, and will be sure to please every fan out there! You may preorder this gem on Amazon, trust us, you won't regret it!

Hey folks! Jurassic World Dominion came and went, but things are far from slowing down for Mattel, with a new Dino Trackers (heh, where have we heard that before? ) line seeing release in 2023, with an onslaught of new and obscure species to add to your shelves, along with the continuation of the fan-loved Hammond Collection! What's not to love? What, more, you say? Well, how about a new line celebrating Jurassic Park's 30th anniversary with many throwbacks to the Kenner era (humans with dino hatchlings, real-feel skin, and more!)? Definitely a great time to be a JP/JW toy collector! As usual, we'll keep updating this checklist through the year, so keep coming back!

Hey folks! Mattel has brought upon us a lot of things to love in 2023, with fun '93 homages, toys we would never have expected to have several years ago (I mean, if someone told me back in 2016-2017 that we would get an in-scale Mamenchisaurus or a Steven Spielberg action figure... :D ) and an overall satisfying continuation of our beloved Jurassic Park/World toyline. Is 2024 going to change that? Well, there's no sign pointing to it, with new '93 Classic sets planned following the tremendous success of this subline in 2023, a new mid-size format for the Hammond Collection, allowing for long-awaited species like Carnotaurus to be released in the correct scale, and more... So, enjoy the new Epic Evolution line, and be sure to come back, this list will keep on being updated in the following months! Credits to Jurassic Outpost for several of their great pictures.

Not entirely toy related, but because we here at JPToys.com like to showcase our own, forum member and former moderator Stitch has posted his take on a Blue Harvest style Family Guy cartoon episode. It has already been showcased on the Freakin' Sweet News website and is the first post in their new fan art section.
Discussion of the artwork by Stitch can be found here, on our forums.
Stay tuned for further JP news updates!
For those in the EST Time Zone, check out Adult Swim on Cartoon Network in the 12:00am to 12:30am time slot during the show Delocated, on March 23rd for some familiar artwork by our good pal Stitch from the forums!
That's right, Stitch, or retired Mod and good friend will be featured in an Adult Swim bump, due to the overwhelming popularity of his Family Guy Jurassic Park picture!
For you folks in pacific time, thats 3 hours behind on Sunday (the 22nd) night! Be sure to check our the Family Guy Jurassic Park Fan-Art from one of our own!
Congratulations Stitch! Now we have 2 members from JPToys featured on national TV... Not that I'm jealous.
Wow, has it been a slow news week or what?! I usually try to stick with just JP toy & collectible news on this site but since it has been a very slow week, I decided to pass this along anyway. The poster (Click for a larger view) features the Rex and Spino about to go at it and right now can be yours for $6.95 with the buy it now option. If you're interested in bidding on this new poster, here's the link. In other site news we here at JPTC with your help are about to open a new Q&A section. Basically how it wiil work is you send your tough questions for the folks at Hasbro or Kenner to me and I will forward them to my good buddy Dan J. who will get the tough answers for you. If there's enough interest, I'll post the first set of Q&A in the coming weeks.
For all of those wondering about the size of this guy, wonder no more! Many thanks goes to "Canebrake" who posted these great new photos of the Spino over on the inGenNet boards and he has plenty more to show you! Click here for the rest. Also, just a little friendly reminder from those of us here a JPTC, don't forget to check out the official JP/// site which is set to open sometime later tonight according to a source over at Dan's.
Trying his best to help keep us updated here at JPTC is Dan who brings us this update from the world of LEGO: "While at my local Toys R Us (who, by-the-bye, has a HUGE JP3 banner over a section of JP3 toys), while looking for a LEGO Bionicle, I passed some Dinosaur baby toys! I saw: -Baby Dimetrodon (adult can be made from Mososaurus) -Baby Brachiosaurus (adult is a separate set) -Baby Anklyosaurus (adult not yet a LEGO set) Unfortunately, it was closing time and the "friendly" workers were rushing me out. But on their site, you can find out more on all of them, including one I didn't see: the Baby Iguanadon (the adult can be made with the T-Rex I think). Also, all are for sale and available except for the T-Rex (will ship by July 17)."
In our ever increasing efforts to bring you news from all over the globe, comes this report from our man in the UK, AgentSmith2k. Here's what he had to say: "I have some news for all those who live in Europe that don't yet know it: Sad news for anybody who lives in Europe; the Animatronic Spinosaurus is, apparently, not going to be released over here! I heard it from somebody who lives in Germany. I think that this will also include the UK. But don't let this get you down! I suggest that you try trading on forums, such as the JPTC ones and those at inGenNET, and also at eBay. I think that Wave 2 will be coming out over here though, and probably the Ultra T-rex. I will keep a lookout for everybody in the UK."
I usually don't have much time for weekend updates here at JPTC but I just couldn't resist this time! Thanks to Tyrant once again for this great new photo of the Tapejara. It's a much more detailed look than we've seen so far and it really proves once and for all that the Tapejara does exsist! Another big thanks goes out to our man Arco for sending in this great picture of the Paul Kirby with Stegosaurus set. Be sure to click on the thumbnails for a larger view and another great shot of the Tapejara!
If you're looking for all the latest wave two pictures, then you've come to the right place! I just finished updating the JP/// section here at JPTC and included in the update was a box shot of the new Tapejara! Make sure you check that out and also be on the look-out for several great new reviews from Jeff which are coming your way next week.
In another JPTC exclusive (thanks to Alex Gayhart) we are now showing you these never before seen photos of what could be a JP/// poseable Carnotaurus! Here's what he had to say about it: "I went to my local comic shop and they had a JP3 Poseable Carnotaurus I don't know if it's some kind of bootleg but it was pretty cool. It bends esier than the Spino and Raptor although it's arms are curved upward and cannot go down.It is red withblack Stripes and tan spots on certain places it's a bit bigger than the others it's the size of TLW Thrasher Rex." The details are a little hard to make out but you can definitely spot the JP/// mark on the leg of the Carno. Hopefully this addition to the poseable family will be better than the previous two attempts with the Spinosaurus and Velociraptor. If you happen to spot this guy and can take a high quality picture of it, please send it our way so we can share it with tht toy world! Click on the thumbnails for a larger view. (Update- Apparently this particular Carno is available in Dinoland U.S.A. at Animal Kingdom. Some people are reporting that this may be the same Carnotaur from Disney's "Dinosaur" with a JP/// logo slapped on to make it look official. I guess you can take it for what it's worth and decide for yourself.)
Long time no update, huh? Well, to tell you the truth there hasn't been any news at all to update the page with! That's to be expected though with all of the JP/// toys out and on the shelves mostly everywhere. I did want to let everyone know that even though the Latest News updates may be few and far between, we here at JPTC are still working hard behind the scenes (now that we have some time) to make sure everything keeps running smoothly. And you can be sure that as soon as there is any breaking news to report, we here at JPTC will be the first to bring it to you. If you're still craving to talk toys, then make sure you head on over to our message boards where we now have over 90 registered members and great conversations going on every day! I will let you know that I recently talked with my buddy Dan J. who will have a couple of wave two reviews for us very soon, so stay tuned for that.
Thanks to our great members (we now have over 100 members) here at JPTC, we've added two new forums to our message boards. You can now enjoy a JP Gaming and a JP movies area in addition to our other already great forums! So, you're not a registered JPTC member? Then what are you waiting for? Sign up and come join us for some great JP discussion!

Make sure to check out his site for all of the pictures. Also, make sure to vote for your favorite diorama artist in our latest JPTC poll located at the bottom of this page. I'm sure that everyone will love the new layout and I can't wait to get all of regulars and new users posting away over there. So what are you waiting for? Registering is very quick and simple! I hope to see you soon!
First off, we here at JPTC would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Halloween. Don't get to sick on all that candy! I don't have any toy related news to pass along today but I did notice over at Dan's that he's posted the specs for the "Franchise Disc" that so many of us have been wondering just what the heck it is? Well apparently it's going to be worth it for any of you that haven't bought the set yet or those of you like me who will be sending in $6.95 to Universal to get the disc by itself. Here's the specs according to Costco.com: Running Time: 121 minutes Original featurette on the making of Jurassic Park Steven Spielberg directs Jurassic Park Animatics: T-Rex Attack Hurricane in Kauai featurette Jurassic Park featurette Original featurette on the making of The Lost World: Jurassic Park Interview with writer Michael Crichton The Lost World: Before and After the Visual Effects The Compie Dance Number: thank you Steven Spielberg from ILM The Industrial Light and Magic press reel The sounds of Jurassic Park III The art of Jurassic Park III The actors tell of their experience seeing the first Jurassic Park Jurassic Park: The Ride Sounds great to me! December 11th can't get here soon enough! If you're looking for more information on the JP/// DVD just click here.
Here's another review of the JP/// Alpha Velociraptor. This one comes from our man overseas, Agent Smith. You can his full review here. I'll be back later this week with a new addition to the JPTC diorama family. Stay tuned for that...
My buddy Hatcher over at the JP Hatchery wanted me to help spread the word that he has recently opened a new toy store at his site. He didn't give me many details but I'm sure if you visit his site that you'll find out the details. In other news, I know I told you earlier this week that by today I would give you the latest addition to the JPTC diorama family but as it turns out, the files were sent to me in the wrong format and I'm still waiting for the correct ones. Rest assured, I'll let everyone know when I get them posted, so be on the look out for that. Have a great weekend everyone and we'll see ya soon!
Hi everybody! I was finally able to drag myself to the computer for an update today after battling a touch of the flu for most of the week. We have a lot to get today (for a change) so let's get started. First off, as you can tell by today's top story, JPTC is now 6 months old! I owe it all to you guys and my staff for encouraging me when I thought about just calling it quits. But thanks to everyone out there JPTC has had over 58,000 hits and has become one of the most popular JP toy sites on the web in just 6 months. Thanks! Next on the agenda is our latest poll here at JPTC where you can vote for who you think would win a battle between the JP series one Rex and TLW Bull Rex...go vote! Last but certainly not least is our first Carnotaurus review. Slashaay was kind enough to share his thoughts with us and I'm glad to share it with you. You can read his review here. That's about it for today's update and I hope everyone has a great weekend. I know I will if my Seminoles can pull off an upset over the #1 ranked Miami Hurricaines this weekend in Tallahassee...we'll see!
Did everyone have a great weekend? I hope it went well. One of my great staffers here at JPTC has just finished his review of the Aqua Spinosaurus from the second wave of JP/// toys. He even took a couple of pictures for us to go along with the great review. You can read it here. Also, don't forget that we have a complete archive of all our reviews located here for your reading pleasure.
As you can already tell (unless you're new to the site) I've decided to go back to the old site layout for now. I just couldn't get use to the new design plus I received e-mails reguarly asking me why I changed it in the first place. Well, I'm not exactly sure but the original design is back for now and also, in case you haven't noticed, JPTC is now fully searchable! This should simplfy things for those of you out there looking for a specific item instead of having to wade through months and months of archives. I hope you find this feature as handy as I do! I'm also working on a little "About Us" type of page where you can get to know us all here at JPTC a little better (isn't that a scary thought?) Look for that later on this week. There's not really any JP toy news to pass along today but I do want to encourage those of you out there that haven't signed up as a member on our message boards to do so. With the toy news lacking these days, the JPTC forums are the place to be! Signing up is easy and painless so stop putting it off and come join us!
Our latest look at the JP/// DVD is out, this time from the DVD Movie Guide. As a DVD nut I can tell you that they offer some of the most in-depth DVD reviews out there and this one doesn't dissapoint. So make sure you check that out. *Update* - while surfing around tonight I noticed that Ron Epstein over at the Home Theater Forum has posted his review also. His is the most positive review I've read so far! FYI, I'm still working on getting that "About Us" page up and running by Friday so stay tuned for that. I think it will give you the reader a little more background on those that help me out behind the scenes. Also, we have a new email address for those of you out there wanting to submit news, reviews, or articles. This should help me keep my personal email and the JPTC email a little more organized.
That's right! If anyone out there would like to submit photos of their JP toy collections to share with everyone else please send them to jptoyscentral@yahoo.com. The only thing I ask is that you limit the number of photos to three (or less). As soon as I receive enough submissions then I'll get started on posting them. I'll keep you updated on that as things progress so stay tuned. In other site news, I wanted to let everyone know that our "About Us" page is finally up and running! I think that you'll find this a helpful little resource whether you're looking to submit a news item of if you just want to find out a little more about your favorite JPTC moderator/reviewer I received some pretty funny stuff from some of the guys so make sure to check that out.
Is everyone having a great turkey day so far? I hope it's going great. I think even more so than in the past that this Holiday season should remind how very lucky we are to live in a great country like the United States. There's so many things to be thankful for that we usually just take for granted like freedom and our way of life. This year we were painfully reminded just how much that freedom can cost and I think America and Americans has responded very well. Now go on and enjoy that turkey & dressing but just keep in mind how very lucky we are and God bless the U.S.A!! Now on to the news, I have for you today a couple of brand new pages of dioramas sent in by Steffi Krug. You can view them here. Remember, if you'd like to submit your dioramas to JPTC just send them as .jpg's or .gif's and email them to us at: jptoyscentral@yahoo.com.
You know it has to be some pretty major news for me to have a weekend update and this time it is! If you haven't checked the toy site "Entertainment Earth" recently then you probably haven't noticed that they have what apprently looks like a second series of JP/// toys up for pre-order. While the details are pretty sketchy right now, they did provide a list of what's included in each assortment: The "Ravage Dino 2-pack assormtent #1" ($60.99) includes the following: 4x Lava T-Rex and Velociraptor, 2x Arctic Spinosaurus and Stegosaurus, 3x Swamp Spinosaurus and T-Rex, and 3x Desert Spinosaurus and Velociraptor. The "JP3 Deluxe Biting Dino Assortment #4" ($77.99) will include: 2x Jungle Spinosaurus, 1x Night Raptor, and 3x Arctic T-Rex. Also available for pre-order is an Re-Ak A-tak Canyon T-Rex ($26.99). Everything they have listed shows a release date of February 2002 but they are quick to remind everyone that that date is subject to change. While this is new information and we don't have any photos (yet) you can be sure that JPTC will keep you up to date as more info. becomes available...stay tuned! (Thanks to Jurassic Toys & Alpha Carnotaur) Also, I just finished updating Steffi's dioramas with two more new ones. You can view them in the diorama section.
Due to popular demand and our ever increasing membership, we created two new JPTC forums over the weekend, Dino Talk & Star Wars Talk. Our goal here is to please you so if that's the new forums you wanted then that's what you got! If you'd like to join us over on the JPTC forums, you can register and be posting in just a matter of minutes. We would love to have you!
As you can tell, we have a brand spankin' new site layout! I've been working on it for a little while now and with the help from some of my staff, this is what we came up with. While it's not a drastic change, it is something a little fresh & new that still manages to capture the essence of the old layout. I hope you like it! Speaking of the site, don't expect many updates (if any) over the next week or so due to the holidays unless of course something big breaks, then we'll be right back here to let you know about it. BTW, we have a new JPTC poll up for you to offer your opinions...go vote! The whole JPTC team would like to take a moment to wish everyone a safe and happy holidays. It's been a very trying time this year for everyone especially us Americans and I think everyone needs a little break to reflect & recover. So have a very Merry Christmas everyone and we'll see ya soon!
As I type this update, it's really Christmas Eve but I won't have access to a computer after today so here's your Christmas day update. I hadn't planned on having one until after the holidays but I just couldn't resist after I checked my email and waiting for me was a brand new JPTC logo designed by The Hatcher. He did a great job on it and I was easily able to find a spot for it in the new layout. I hope everyone likes it as much as I do! While we here at JPTC can't afford to give everyone a Christmas gift (as much as we'd really love too!) but we can give you a little something from the heart and here it is...Merry Christmas!
If you read Monday's update then you know that we had some major problems with our forums early on Monday morning. I think the problem had to do with ProBoards having some kind of server upgrade (thanks for the warning) and at the same time I was trying to add a new forum all the messages went bye-bye. Oh well, the members at JPTC are the strongest out there and they've picked the board right up and put it back on it's feet (thanks guys)! Hopefully this is the last time we'll have to deal with something like this. Speaking of the new forum, that new one we added was a Paleo Art forum. So now all you artist out there can share your dino artwork. I know I've said this several times but one more won't hurt! If you haven't signed up with us yet... then what are you waiting for? Registration is very fast and simple and you can be posting with us in no time. Well, that's about it for today so I hope everyone has a great weekend and let's not forget to remember those that lost their lives 60 years ago today in the attack on Pearl Harbor. I know we all can't help but notice the similarities with that attack and the one that happened to us just recently on September 11th. So to kind of commerate things, I'm off to watch my brand new Pearl Harbor DVD...see ya later!
Just a couple of site updates to mention before I let you go today. First off, for those of you that follow diorama stories, you may be interested to know that Austin finally sent in the last epsiode (#10) of T.I.N.P. and you can get to it by clicking here. Yesterday saw the addition of two more JPTC forums: JP Literature & Forum Feedback so make sure to check those out. That's it for today and we'll be back soon with a couple of new reviews from Bambiraptor so be on the look-out for that later this week...stay tuned!
It's hard to believe that another year has come and gone but it's has and as everyone rings in the new year, we here at JPTC wish everyone out there a happy and prosperous 2002! In the new year you can continue to expect the same dependble coverage you always have from JPTC. ANIMATRONIC SPINO ON SALE!
A big thanks goes out to "CLParker" for dropping us a line to let everyone know that walmart.com has reduced the regular price of the animatronic spino from $49.96 to just $25.00! If you weren't able to find one at Christmas for a decent price...now's your chance!
How was everyone's weekend? I hope it went well. Well, it looks like we're not going to get any of those deleted posts back from the Proboards server change last week. I apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused you guys but there's nothing we can do about it. Hopefully proboards is done with their upgrades for a while so we can get back to normal on the JPTC forums. Not all was bad for the forums though, over the weekend we came up with a new color scheme for the forum as well as a banner image. So make sure you check that out and if you haven't done so already, why don't you join us as a member on our forum? Registration couldn't be any eaiser and there's always plenty to talk about (even though nothing major news wise is happening right now). We just had our 105 member join and you could be number 106...what are you waiting for!
I'm not really sure if this is a new series or just another line of JP toys but nonetheless, Hasbro has finally updated the JP3 section of their site with pictures of this series/line! The new pictures include: Artic Spino/Stego (2 pack), Desert Spino/Raptor (2 pack), Swamp Spino/T-rex (2 pack), Volcanic T-Rex/Raptor (2 pack) and my personal favorite so far, the Ultra Canyon T-Rex. Don't get too excited though, because it looks as if all of them will be repaints. I do think they did a great job on some of the paint jobs while others (like the Desert Raptor) just look plain hideous! There is a bit of good news though, if you look closely at the pics you'll notice that we once again have collector cards with our JP toys! Kudos to Hasbro for that. You can check out all of the new pictures in our JP3 section or head on over to the JP3 section at Hasbro.com and check them out for yourselves. Hasbro still has about 4 more pictures to show us so stay tuned to JPTC and we'll keep you updated as more pictures/info. becomes available. (Thanks to everyone for the heads up!)
Thanks to everyone who voted in our last poll in which we asked the question, What is your favorite JP/// action figure pack? Well, over 130 people voted and everyone's favorite with %27 of the vote was the Alan Grant w/Compies set. Coming in second place with %17 of the vote was the military General w/T-Rex. Our new question is pretty similiar to the last one, we want you to give us your opinion on the new CamoXtreme line of JP3 toys. Do you love 'em or hate 'em? Please let us know by voting in the latest JPTC poll. Another quick site update before I let you got today, I managed to round up a few more photos for the JP Junior section that I think you'll enjoy so make sure to check those out. Have a great weekend and stay tuned to JPTC for all the latest in JP toy news!
How many of you out there have an awesome set-up or display of your JP toy collection? Well, if you visit this site on a regular basis then chances are you probably fall into that category. The reason I ask is because JPTC wants to see those great collections and so does everyone else! If you'd like to submit a few photos of your JP toy collection just send them to us at: jptoyscentral@yahoo.com but please limit the amount of photos to five or less. Hopefully as long as there's enough interest, you should see the "Dino-Room" section up here at JPTC very soon....stay tuned.
A big thanks to one of my moderators, Acro for finally getting me to add a chat room here at JPTC! I was able to sign up with Bravenet and everything looks good so far. Of course this is mainly a JP toy chat room but feel free to discuss anything you like (as long as it's clean So if you want to check it out, just click here or use the chat link in the menu to your left. I hope to see you there...have a great weekend everyone!
We have a couple of site updates to get to today so lets get started. Thanks to Keith for being the first entry in our Dino Room section here at JPTC! He sent in four great photos of his JP toy collection to share with everyone and you can get to them by clicking the Dino Room link to your left. I've even included a few pictures from yours truly's collection Remember, if you'd like to submit a few photos of your JP collection, just send them to us at: jptoyscentral@yahoo.com and we will be glad to add them! Also, a big thanks to all you guys that participated in last Friday's JPTC Chat! Although I wasn't able to hang around very long, I did hear that it was a great success and hopefully as long as the interest is there we can make this a weekly gathering for all us JP toy freaks! If you missed out this week, don't worry because I'm sure we'll have another one later this week (probably on Friday again). So stay tuned to the JPTC Forum for more on our next big chat and other important updates here at JPTC. Discuss this story
Thanks to our eagle eyed forum member, Mr_Goodbytes for pointing out that the new CamoXtreme pictures have been completely removed from Hasbro's website. Does this mean that they have decided to do away with the line all together? Well, I for one surely hope not but I know there are those of you out there that would take this as great news. Stay tuned to JPTC for all the latest details. *Update*- Mr_Goodbytes did a little more checking into this for us and here's what he found out: "Thank you for contacting us. There are no end dates on the product line at this time but there is no announced product for 2002. We will know more after February" Notice it says After February, the U.S. Toy Fair is in February. So, maybe they are waiting until they see how well the toys are recieved at Toy Fair. This means that we could possibly have more repaints, and new molds!!! This whole thing just keeps getting stranger and stranger. Mr_Goodbytes couldn't be more right, this is a very strange situation. Either way it looks like we may have a while to wait until we see any new JP toys.
Just a little site reminder before I let you go today. Remember that tonight is our weekly JPTC Chat and we want everyone to who can to participate! It should start around 9:30pm eastern time (8:30 central). Hope to see you there! We'll see ya back here on Monday with a new entry into our Dino Room section...have a great weekend everyone!
Thanks to rexforever and our good ol' moderator Nick for sending in our latest collection photos. If you'd like to see them just click here or use the link to your left. I even drug out most of my collection and updated those pics for you to see. If you'd like to share your collection photos with everyone just send them to us at: jptoyscentral@yahoo.com. One more item today. Over the weekend I finally revealed my secret identity to everyone so if you'd like to see what ol' Dan & Missy (the better half) looks like then click here...don't say I didn't warn you though
Thanks to "Tyrannosaurus Rex" for submitting our latest review here at JPTC and what better for him to review than a T-Rex, the JP series 1 red T-Rex to be exact. Just click here to read his review or head on over to our JPTC Review Section and check out all of the other great reviews
The latest update to our diorama section comes to us from "Jurassic Joe". He also has a pretty cool JP related site that you might be interested in checking out called The Raptor Pit. Remember, if you have any dioramas that you would like to submit to us, just drop us a line at jptoyscentral@yahoo.com and I'll be glad to post 'em!
Thanks to Acro for submitting this latest review of the JPD Pachychepholosaurus Playset. You can check it out here or by going to our JPTC review section. Another little site note to point out today, I've updated my collection photos (yes again). This time my wife (believe it or not) rearranged everything and I really like the end result. Here's a future tip for all you husbands to be out there, you better like whatever she does or you might not eat for a very long time!
Just wanted to let everyone that I've been working hard behind the scenes here at JPTC to get a new section up (hint: check the navigation bar) so that's why there hasn't been any updates lately. That and the fact that nothing much is going on! So anyway, I'm trying my best to get that new section up and running very soon, hopefully sometime early next week. I had originally planned on having it completed by today but you know how things go! BTW, don't forget that tonight is our weekly JPTC chat starting at 9pm eastern time (8pm central)...hope to see you there! That's it for today...have a great weekend everyone!
This is a little quicker than I expected them to be spotted but apparently JPTC forum member "Carcharodontosaurus" has spotted some of the new CamoXtreme 2-packs at his local Shopko. Here's what he had to say: "I just got back from my local Shopko, I went to the toys section and the JP3 was moved to the back, and there were 3 Poseable Raptors, and 5 Alan Grant w/Raptors.....And on the bottom rack there were 3 Desert packs, 1 Lava pack ,and 2 Artic packs.....I got 1 of each and left......I has so shocked to find them.....there here you just have to check out your stores.....The cards in the packs are just 1 thin cardboard piece with a picture of the hatchlings, and on the back there is a disriction of the items in english spanish and some other language..... **Lava Card Info." "In the wake of a massive volcanic eruptions. these red-hot dinos evolved with flame colored camofladge to rule their lava covered domain." **Desert Card Info." "In the heat of the desert. these sand-dweling dinos are camofladged to conquer precious water resources-and defend themeselfs from enemies!" **Arctic Card Info." "In the snow blasted plains of the extreme north. these elite dinos use their glacial camofladge to hunt prey and attack artic adversaries He has plenty more to say about them on our message boards so make sure to check that out. A couple of site updates: I updated the JP review section today with a new review from Tyrannosaurus Rex of the JP Jungle Explorer (which is an awesome review!) and I'm almost ready to open up that collectors card section so be on the look-out for that very soon...stay tuned!
First off, I have to thank my good friend Stephen (JPDino) for helping me get this new section up as quickly as I have. He provided most of the pictures and helped me finish way ahead of schedule...thanks bud! OK, I'm sure by now that most of you have seen/heard of the JP collector cards so this is nothing new but it was a section I thought we needed here at JPTC. It was really fun looking back at some of these old cards, some of which I hadn't seen in a very long time. Most of the artwork on them was just plain amazing! Very rich colors mixed with awesome dino action...they sure don't make 'em like they use to! Anyway, be sure to head on over there and check that out whenever you get a chance, I think you'll find it well worth your time. BTW, if you happen to have any of the cards I'm missing, except for the Die Cast (I should have the rest of those up by Monday) please send them to me and I'll make sure you get full credit for whatever you send in. Also, don't forget that tonight is our weekly JPTC chat starting at 9pm eastern time. Have a great weekend everyone!
Well gang, in just a few hours I'll heading down to sunny Florida with my wife & family on a much needed vacation! We'll be visiting Disney World and the one I'm looking forward to the most...Islands of Adventure! I'll be sure to take plenty of pictures and post them when I get back. Anyway, I just wanted to give everyone a heads up and to let you know not to expect another update until at least the middle of next week at the earliest. In the meantime, don't forget that our weekly JPTC chat is still on for tomorrow night starting around 9pm eastern time or whenever everyone decides to show up If you have any question/problems or both, please direct them to one of my moderators in the forum. BTW, I did receive my free JP Bonus disc earlier this week so as soon as I get back and get finished going through it (what I've watched so far has been awesome!), I'll be sure to post a mini-review of some sorts for everyone. So take care and have a great weekend eveyone!
A big thanks to everyone who particaipated in our first ever diorama contest! We had an overwhelming response with about 25 total entries (maybe more). Anyway, I think since this one went so well you can probably guarantee a second JPTC diorama contest in the very near future. O.K., now on to what everybody's been waiting for...the winners!
Movies Novel Fiction 1st - Ultra2k1 1st - Jurassic Joe 1st - Jurassic Joe 2nd - JPAction Man 2nd - Ultra2k1 2nd - Mr_Goodbytes 3rd - Jurassic Joe 3rd - rexforever 3rd - rexforever *Best Overall* - Ultra2k1 "The T-Rex Chase"
Congratulations to all the winners. Each winner will be receiving a siffy new logo that's having the finishing touches put on it as we speak. The last thing that I'll mention today is something very exciting! JPTC is now only 5 days away from our 1 year anniversiary and we have some very big surprises in store for you! What you may ask? Keep it here for more details because everything is being finalized as we speak and that process shouldn't take much longer. This is a very exciting time for us here at JPTC and we really think you're going to absolutely love what's in store...stay tuned!
Boy, this whole line just continues it's downward sprial! First they're up, then they're gone...who know's what to beleive! This time they're gone again but it's the 2 packs according to Mr_Goodbytes: "Once again, Entertainment Earth has removed a CamoXtreme Item. This time, however, it is the hatchling 2 packs that have been removed. The Confusion Continues!!! Here is my theory.... I think that Entertainment Earth recieved them early, so they began selling them. However, the shelf date was pushed back to April just like the others, and Hasbro has told them not to sell any more. In any case, they are gone. Let's just hope they bring them back." Who knows what's going on but you can make sure that we'll continue to keep you up to date on whatever happens with this mysterious line! A little site update for ya, it seems that our plans for the big JPTC anniversiary hit a bit of a snag (to no fault of our own but that's another story). Anway, things seem to be back on track for now so we just ask for your patience while we get things back in order. We think you'll find the wait well worth it! Have a great weekend!
Hard to believe, huh? After all the changes we've been through, here we are celebrating our 1 year anniversiary! To tell you the truth, this site has lasted longer and become more popular than I could've ever imagined. We went from our humble beginnings at JP3 HQ to our current home here on geocities and this probably won't be our last stop (hint, hint ;-). Anyway, thanks to all you guys and gals out there that visit this site everyday, you're the ones that keep us going! Hopefully we'll continue going until you just can't stand us anymore (which is hopefully never ;-). On a side note, I was finally able to secure myself a MIB JP series 2 Carnotaurus over the weekend and I can't wait until it gets here so I can finally display it in all its glory!
Not to toot our own horn here too much but to be honest, this is something that we're just dang proud of! I noticed it last night (we're actually at 100,635 as I type this) and went back through the numbers and figured out that we passed it either late night on April 1st or just in time for our 1 year anniversiary on April 2nd....pretty neat huh? Anyway, that's about all I had for ya today but be assured that we're still hard at work behind the scenes on our big project! Have a great weekend everyone!
Mr_Goodbytes continues his quest to get to the bottom of all this CamoXtreme chaos! This time he kindly emailed the folks over at entertainmentearth.com to see just how they plan on filling all those pre-orders that are now listed as "Out Of Stock-Arriving Soon". This was their response: Unfortunately, the manufacturer has not provided us with a date we can expect to receive this item, but we are expecting it back in stock soon. We will have pictures of it on our website soon. We fully intend to fill all pre-orders as soon as we are able. Thank you for your patience. Customer Service Entertainment Earth Pretty nice guys huh? Keep it here for all the latest details as we'll pass them along to you as more becomes available. A couple of site updates before I let you go today - first, I finally got around to updating the pictures of my JP collection (most of it) which now includes a shot of my most recent acquisition, the JP series 2 Carnotaurus! We also have a new member in the JPTC diorama family (I know...cheesy ;-). His name is raptorhunter56 and his first entry is a good one! So make sure to check that out and have a great weekend everybody!
Most of you may know us as "JPTC" and for those that don't...welcome aboard! As you can see, we have a snazzy new layout thanks to my partner in crime Armothe (who I can never thank enough!). I know we’ve been promising that “it’s coming” for some time now but to make a long story short...we ran into a few snags along the way ;-). But that’s all behind us now and I think you’ll find that it was well worth the wait! You’ll probably notice that most of the content is from our old geocities site. Well, this is just temporary until we get the next phase of our project underway. We have some big upgrade plans in store including a new & complete toy archive, a merchandise store as well as a bootleg & custom toys section.
All we ask for right now is your patience as we try to gather up our resources, take a deep breath and get phase 2 rolling. In the meantime, feel free to look around and get familiar with things and don’t forget to cast your vote in our latest poll question on what you think of the new layout. So stay tuned and have a great weekend!
You asked for it...... and JPToys is pleased to give it to you. The Web's first and only online price guide for Jurassic Park toys. Tired of spending $6.50 on an out-dated paper-back price-guide each month? Written and maintained by hard-core JP collectors, the JPToys price guide appeals to both collectors and sellers. The guide boasts over 300 accurate and complete entries to assist you with your selling or buying needs.
You can find the guide by clicking on the link in the nav-bar, or going here. Don't forget to check out the FAQ! So, what's next you might ask? Be sure to check out our new and improved nav-bar for your first big clue! Have a great weekend everyone!
These were spotted in a recent eBAY auction. Chalk up 5 more for Mexico! Unlike the other ones, these dinosaurs are actually mentioned on the back of the cards.
So how was everybody's weekend? Mine was rushed as I spent half of it in Atlanta at a convention and the other half learning how to kayak. I had a great time but my body is starting to tell me otherwise! Also, today I turn the big 23! What a way to spend your birthday - in pain!
Now, on to the updates. First up, we have a new review from "jpworker" of TLW Sarah Harding. Pretty good review so make sure to check that out when you get a chance. Also today as you may have already noticed, we have a brand spankin' new poll question! Last time we wanted to know what your favorite JP vehicle was and the overwhelming winner with 54% of the vote was the Jungle Explorer (which I must say - I agree). This time we want to know what your favorite TLW vehicle is. So cast your vote now and we'll have an overall favorite poll with each of the previous winners soon!
JPToys is proud to kick off the Customs section by featuring Armothe's latest creation - the Sahara Spinosaurus! Granted, that's the only one, but we are looking for more member submissions! JPToys is willing to either host, or link to your custom creations. This might be the ticket for the person who doesn't have a website, or perhaps their host is just plain unreliable. Contact the JPToys Staff to inquire about this awesome opportunity! (Update - 8/22) Plenty of new customs entries have been added - check them out!
Have you ever lost your instructions or forgotten how to assemble one of your JP toys? Well have no fear - just visit our new Downloads section today! That's right, for the first time anywhere on the web, JPtoys.com is proud to bring you the actual instruction guides for some of your favorite JP toys! We have more cool downloadable items planned so make sure to keep checking back. Keep in mind though that these scans are only made available for your assistance and enjoyment - not for monetary gain.
In other site news, be sure to head on over to our Customs section if you haven’t lately. We have new additions from our own Armothe & some new entries from Velociraptoryx as well. Next up for us, the new & improved toy archives! So stay tuned for that and have a great weekend!
Our review section here at JPT hasn't had an update in quite some time but that dry spell is now over thanks to forum regular Roselaar. He recently submitted close to 40 new TLW & JP3 reviews! Let me tell ya folks, these are some of the most detailed and articulate reviews to ever grace our review section. I highly recommend that you take some time to check them out...you won't be disappointed.
The latest edition (1/15) of Sideshow radio mentions that the JP line as well as other new licenses will be unveiled at the 2008 Toy Fair in February. You can click here to read the full article. A big thanks to JPT Legend 'Raptorbite' for the heads up.
I apologize for the lack of updates lately but this is about as dry as it's been in a long time. JP4 can't some soon enough! However, I did want to take the time to wish you and yours a very merry Christmas and a happy new year. Thanks again for another wonderful year here at JPT...you guys are the best! Also, it just wouldn't be Christmas without passing along something, so here's a new diorama gallery from forum vet JPdude.
Thanks to forum moderator 'Raptoralpha' we now have our first detailed shots of the very rare CamoXtreme Jungle Spinosaurus/T-Rex 2-pack. Front and back shots have now been uploaded to our CamoXtreme database for you to feast your eyes upon! Also, along those same lines, we have a new poll question up wanting to know your favorite "exotic" JP line. Be sure to vote and let us know.
Take a look at the very rare TLW collector cards that were only released in Europe in very limited quantities. Forum moderator 'Triceratops123' was kind enough to provide the scans and we've now uploaded them to our Lost World section for your viewing pleasure.
Forum moderator 'Triceratops123' came across an interesting LEGO bootleg recently that is based on the JP Raptor Pit. You can view the picture by clicking here. More pics can be found on our forum. Along those same lines, we have a new custom addition from 'Eddi' that features his take on that same Raptor Pit from the first film.
Check out these cool scans that forum member 'Raptorbite' stumbled upon at a local Goodwill store. He found them in a booklet that was inserted with a VHS copy of The Lost World. Click on the thumbnails for a larger view:
Forum member 'Raptorbite' spotted this Cyclops Raptor prototype on ebay recently and was kind enough to pass it along. Here's what the seller has to say about it:
"Here's something that you don't see every day. Up for auction is one, rare, loose test shot of the Jurassic Park II The Lost World Site B Cyclopse Raptor. Test shots are the first toy samples ever "shot" prior to a production run. They are generally for approval, mold issues, plastic shrinkage, part fitting, stress tests, etc. Some shots are multi colored (like this one) using any of the available plastics already sitting in the machine. If you are a fan of Jurassic Park, then this rare collectors item belongs in your collection."
Rare indeed and it looks legit enough to us. It's interesting the rate at which some of these protos have been showing up in the last year or so. Definitely more than I can remember in the past. Anyway, if you happen to be the lucky one who wins this auction and would like to share some pics, please feel free to contact us and do so.
The folks over at Sideshow Collectibles currently have a poll up wanting to know which license would you like them to announce at Comic-Con this year. Currently Jurassic Park is in a VERY close second place behind only 'Conan The Barbarian'. At least one license will be announced at Comic-Con. Sideshow Collectibles specializes in very unique & detailed maquettes, statues and action figures from several movie properties such as Star Wars, LOTR, Aliens, and many more. This could provide a very unique opportunity for JP fans to play a part in possibly getting some amazing JP collectibles released and all you have to do is vote! The poll is located through the red banner on the right side of their homepage directly above the Pre-Order Products area.
Remember that uber rare Ultimasaurus that showed up on ebay (see April 5th update) and caused so much fuss recently? It ended at the time with no apparent winner and no chance at us learning more about it. Well forum moderator 'Raptoralpha' and member 'Andrewsaurus' recently inquired about its fate and received the following from the seller:
"That figure was already sold a few months ago. My son had intended to re-list it on eBay, but we got an offer from a private collector for $5,000 and he just couldn't turn it down. And I'm sorry, but I can't provide you with more pictures of the dinosaur, as part of the deal the buyer asked that I didn't. "
So there you have it. Will we ever get to the bottom of this mystery? Doesn't seem like it at this point. But then again, stranger things have happened so you never know. To the collector who purchased it, we would be thrilled (to say the least) if you would like to contact us here at JPtoys and shed some light on this very rare gem.
We've seen JP Dino Dogs & Nuggets so far so why not JP LunchAsaurus? Semms like the next logical step...right? Well forum member 'Spinosaur122' came across these (well actually his girlfriend did...heh) at a local Wal-Mart for about $2 a piece. You can choose from Jurassic (Ham & American), Raptor (Nachos) and T-Rex (Turkey & American). Each package back contains word games as well as fun dino facts (Spino, Raptor and T-Rex). That not enough for ya? Well each LunchAsaurus also includes this water pack pack to wash things down with. That's a good call based on the taste of the dogs & nuggets.
*Update - 7/3* - Forum member 'garrettjdg' came across yet another LunchAsaurus, Prehistoric Pizza. Here's a shot of the back as well.
Also today, I want to take the time to wish those of you in the States a very happy & SAFE 4th of July celebration. I hope that you keep our men & women overseas that are in harms way in your thoughts and prayers.
Due to popular demand, we now have a Papo section at JPtoys.com! Please check it out but keep in mind that it is a new section and still very much under construction. We plan to add even more photos in the future and appreciate your patience in the process. Along those same lines, we have a new poll question up that wants to know what your favorite Papo dino has been so far. Be sure to vote & let us know!
Wow, two days in a row with an update...how 'bout that?! Definitely a rarity these days. Anyways, on to the news. Forum member 'alpharex came' across this thread over on the reblescum forums that features member 'Washu' holding what he says to be a prototype for a remote controlled raptor that of course never made it to the production phase. Here's what he had to say:
"This is a original sculpt for the Jurassic Park line. I have the other parts in the box and did not want to bring them all out in case one falls. The wax only ways a measly 27 pounds. I forgot, but it should measure about 3 1/2 feet long with tail. The toy was devolped for Lost World (?) and to be a remote control Raptor. This toy was never produced and never reached hardcopy stage. Rather unknown prototype... and the biggest of them all."
If true, it's amazing the amount of these previously "unknown" protos that have been popping up lately. If nothing else, at least it passes the time and gives us something else to discuss.
Mega pharmacy chain CVS has the JPD3 2-packs on sale for $3.99 (regular $4.99) when you use your CVS card. The sale is good through 5/26. Nothing major but always worth passing along for those of you interested in picking up doubles or some loose ends. In other news, forum member 'Andrewsaurus' came across this JP bike from Jurassic Park the ride in Japan. Anyone spotted anything like this state side?
No, this isn't our idea of a late April Fool's joke (although it would've made a good one). Forum member 'Piltdown Chickenraptors' came across an ebay auction recently that may just have the only "unreleased" Chaos Effect Ultimasaurs that we've seen so far. Is it the real deal or perhaps a clever custom? Click here for the pic. We will of course keep you updated if/when we receive any more info. on this potential stunning find.
(UPDATE 4/09) - The auction has ended with apparently no winner according to the seller who told us that the item was withdrawn so that he could take more time to properly evaluate the item's worth and go from there. We can only hope that it will pop up on ebay again sometime soon so that we'll have another chance to solve this mystery. Until then, stay tuned for further updates and please pass along anything you see fit as it relates to this story.
For years we've wondered if Todd McFarlane (Aliens, Sportspicks, Dragons) had any interest in producing a JP themed line or perhaps a generic dino line in general. Well both of those questions were posed to Todd on his "Toddcast". The first by our very own 'Thorondor 33'. Here's what he had to say:
- I heard rumours of a Monsters of Universal series. If this is true, what are the chances of seeing Jurassic Park figures? Thanks!
"Rumors from who, Joe? I don't even trust that guy. As for Jurassic Park figures, Hasbro has the master license locked down, but we're looking into different angles on this one."
- Would you ever consider making a dinosuar line? After seeing the brilliant work achieved on the dragons I would love to see a dinosaur line done in the same scale etc. I know there's alot of fellow boardies who like the idea of a dinosaur line too.
"My son Jake loves dinosaurs so I've got that idea being suggested several times each week in my own house! I have tried to incorporate some of the dinosaur traits and looks in our Dragons line."
So there's the scoop from THE man himself as only JPtoys.com can bring you. We still don't have anything concrete but it's nice to hear that they (McFarlane) are exploring "other angles". As always, stay tuned to this space for further updates. Finally today, I wanted to mention that we're celebrating our 6th anniversiary here at JPT this month. Time just continues to fly on by...thanks for coming along for the ride!
Anyone in the mood for some random but totally awesome JP customs? I thought so. Forum member Raptorbite came across these gems on the net recently but we're not sure the story behind them or their creator. Drop us a line if you can provide any further info. and we'll be sure to update it here. Click the thumbnails for larger images:
(UPDATE 3/22) - In the days since this posting, many JPT forum members have chimed in with some background info. on where exactly these customs came from and who exactly created them. Apparently the T-Rex model was created by Mike Wallace (doesn't he work for 60 minutes?) and the Raptor creator is unknown. Both were shown at a 2005 convention in Kentucky known as 'Wonderfest". Forum regular giganotoigauana was kind enough to post a few scans that cover Mr. Wallace's piece as well as a Raptor model from Jim Lawrence. It's a very interesting read and can be found by clicking on following thread on our forum.
It's been quite a while since we've had a trifecta update (Dios, Collections & Poll) but here we go. The new entry to the collections section comes to us from Chris. And finally we have a long overdue new poll question. A big thanks goes out to the record over 1,000 voters in our previous poll (1,079 to be exact) that crowned the Papo line as your favorite non-JP line with 32% of the final tally. Dino Valley came in a fairly close 2nd place with 26%. Thanks again to all those that participated!
Forum member Raptoralpha recently purchased a slew of Kenner Toy Fair catalogs and in them found some clearer CE shots and even some TLW pics we haven't seen yet. Among the most interesting of those is the once rumored Deinonychus with a tiger stripe design. Very nice to finally see that. Also included is a shot of our beloved Bull-Trex (in a much different deco than the original), Dieter Stark and the Dirt Bike with Carter. Please click on the thumbnails below for a larger view:
Thanks again to RA for passing those along. We certainly hope that you enjoy them. We also wish you and yours a very Mery Christmas and a happy holiday season! *UPDATE 12/22* - Complete catalog scans of these new shots are now up in our download section for your viewing pleasure!
It was recently brought to my attention that we somehow overlooked updating the JP Dinosaurs section with last years 3rd wave/series. Well I'm glad to say that it is now updated for your viewing pleasure. Better late than never...right?
Also today, I wanted to jump off the beaten path for a minute to address a very serious problem that effects many people all over the world - diabetes. One of our forum members Chris has a 6 year old son Christopher that is a rabid Dinosaur fan, JP toy collector and a regular visitor here at JPToys.com. However, that may be where his simalarities with most of you end. Christopher has been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes since he was 4 years old. He must have his glucose levels checked and managed several times daily through an insulin pump (yet some kids still require multiple injections of insulin). As you could imagine not only is this quite the chore for the parents but just think of the afflicted in this case. Christopher seemingly takes it all in stride and seems to have adjusted to his affliction quite well according to his Dad but you know it has to be tough on him.
This is why Chris is dedicated to help find a cure for this disease and would like your help. Christopher will be participating in his 3rd "Walk To Cure Diabetes" on October 15th in Pennsauken, NJ. If you can't make the walk, you may make a donation on behalf of Christopher at the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Also, be sure to check out Christopher's website (run by his Dad) for all the latest news and any other FAQ you may have about diabetes. It's not often that we get a chance to participate in something larger than ourselves so make sure to check out those links and help out if you can. Every little bit helps!
First off, I apologize for the lack of updates lately but that just how things are in the world of JP toys lately...ya know? Well to pay back some of the patience on your part, we have a brand spankin' new section to pass along - an official JP Toys checklist. This has been one of our most requested sections for quite some time now so we certainly hope you find it a valuable resource here at JPtoys.com. A big thanks to staffer Raptoralpha for all the assistance. As always, feel free to contact us if you find any errors or would like to suggest any additions.
Forum moderator Raptoralpha came across this interesting article from the Wall Street Journal that shows just how dominating the Star Wars merchandising machine is. How does this relate to JP you might ask? Well the article also includes a graph that details the other major movie franchises and just how good their box office take is compared to the merchandising totals. Pretty cool stuff. For whatever it's worth (probably nothing at all), the JP franchise is by far the most balanced in terms of the differences. Click on the graph to the right for a larger look.
Here's a cool bootleg find from forum member 'Imperial Drannian' that features a King Kong packaged with a JP3 Spino hatchiling. Here's what she had to say:
"While we were down in the Highlands (Australia) we ducked into a 'cheapie shop' and, right next to the bootlegs of DV we saw were some really laughable bootlegs of Kong. A five second examination of the packets revealed that they in fact also conained bootlegged TLW/JP3 hatchlings. The one pictured has a Spino. I recall seeing a Rex & Raptor, will make an endeavour to pick one up next time I'm down there if they are dirt-cheap enough for me."
In other news today, we have a new site poll up. Be sure to vote and let us know your favorite non-JP dino toy line.
If you remember way back to February of 2003 we had our first ebay sighting of the unreleased JPS2 Scutosaurus & Ornithosuchus. Well it appears that Scutosaurus at least has popped up online again but this time on the Chinese site Taobao (think ebay). It's very interesting to see these rare items showing up from time to time on ebay and various other sites such as this. It really makes you wonder just what other JP gems are out there waiting to be discovered. A big thanks to forum member 'Piltdown Chickenraptors' for the heads up.
Here are some pictures from a recent eBAY auction, featuring painted prototypes of the Jurassic Park Series 2 Scutosaurus and Ornithosuchus. Are they genuine, or fake? You be the judge! Click on the thumbnails to view larger images.
Nothing earth shattering to pass along here but probably woth mentioning nonetheless. It seems that last year's new line of JP Dinosaurs are starting to pop up at KB Toy stores again. It looks like a last ditch effort on their part to clear out some back inventory as most everything has been heavily reduced. Just last weekend I had family from Florida call to ask me if I needed any because their local KB Outlet was stocked to the max with of course the discounted prices. Site Co-Owner Armothe just recently found them as well. Here's his report:
"I know its halfway into 2006 but the most recent 2005 JP Deluxe Dinos started popping up at KBToys and KB Toy Works/Outlets.
Last Christmas the smaller 2005 ravage packs showed up in the same place - some are still hanging around. I haven't seen the Ultras in the store yet."
Anyway we just wanted to pass that along for those of you that might not have picked up some of the items from last year. Now is probably your last chance to find them in stores...especially at these prices. This public service announcement was brought to you by your friendly staff at JPToys.com.
I'm soooo far behind on this years anniversiary update but better late than never...right? Anyway, it doesn't seem like that long ago that I was just a regular poster over at InGenNet (hello vets!) asking people to check out my new site which was then known as JP Toys Central...or JPTC for short. Things were moving along pretty slowly until we got our first big exclusive which was shots of the "Wave 2" JP3 Alan Grant w/compies. As the requests for the pictures started to flow in, I thought we might be on to something. A few hours and over 700 hits later I KNEW we were. About a year later (with the help of co-owner Armothe) we were able to move to our own dot com address and a snazzy new layout. Here we sit 5 years later having outlasted all the competition and we somehow keep chugging along. All of that is a testament to not only our wonderful staff here but to you the viewers/readers out there. For that we truly and humbly thank you!
Well all of those many requests seems to be for naught to this point. Due to the lack of entries thus far, we've decided to postpone the contest until a later date. For those that had already entered and looked forward to participating, we aplogize. Stay tuned to this space for further updates.
The long awaited/requested 3rd JPToys.com Diorama Contest is officially underway! We have a total of 5 categories (Movie, Novel, Fiction, Diorama Story, Non-JP) for you to submit under. Only one entry per person per category and the entry deadline will be Monday - June 26th. Please use this thread on our diorama board to submit your entries. If you're not a member, it's very quick & painless to sign up (I promise) so please do so. Good luck to all the participants!
In other news to pass along, we have a new John Hammond custom from member 'raptorboy123'. Check out his custom and all our other great entries in the custom section today!
Now this is what it's all about folks. The pinnacle, holy grail. Call it whatever you want but our good friend & forum moderator Raptoralpha has made it there! He recently completed his loose collection and now wants to share the pictures with everyone. A big congrats to him! Be sure to check out his gallery today. And last but not least, there's a new poll up today that follows up on our headline. Do you think you'll ever complete your JP collection? Be sure to vote and let us know!
It's been a while since we've had any new collection galleries to pass along but the drought ends today! We have 3 new galleries from 'izartist', 'JURASSIC-RAGE' and 'evilrex'. The new dioramas also come to us courtesy of 'JURASSIC-RAGE' and are now up for your viewing pleasure.
I realize that when you run an April Fools story (see below), you run the risk of "leading the lambs to slaughter" but boy, I had no idea just how many of you would fall for it this year! I bet I've received and at least 10 emails so far (and more on the forum) just wanting to let us know that the "Chape Mei story" and the corresponding "prototype picture" are fake. Thanks for the emails but they can all stop now - pay better attention next time - you've been warned!
In the way of site updates, we have a complete diorama gallery overhaul from 'izartist' with almost 20 new additions! Be sure to check those out when you get a chance.
It was bound to happen. The Chap Mei company has been producing dinosaur toys strongly inspired by Jurassic Park toys for some time now. Well, it appears that they acquired the license to produce official JP toys. This picture was sent by someone claiming to be a Chap Mei designer (more than likely an early prototype). Here's what he had to say concerning the matter, including some interesting news about upcoming toys.
"Hello, I'm a concept designer working for the Chap Mei company, and I've been working on several series including Dino Quest, Beast Raider and the soon-to-be-released Wild Park series. I'm writing you to give Jurassic Park fans some good news for the toyline. An announcement from the Hasbro company will soon be made about their loss of the Jurassic Park license, but by the end of the year, a new Jurassic Park line will be released in the European market, and in the US market later, by the Chap Mei company. We are currently working on the look of the line, but here's the concept art that will likely be chosen. The line-up has also been approved, and will likely be similar to this:
- Ultra T-Rex w/ Alan Grant
- Spinosaurus w/ Tim Murphy
Of course, some changes might occur, but that is everything planned so far. In other news today, we have new dioramas up from 'Evilrex' (now Evilstudios) and a new gallery from 'The Big Wil'.
Today we have 2 new diorama galleries up for your viewing pleasure from 'Rexmeister' and 'EvilRex'. We also have another JP4 toy line related poll up for your input. Let's us know your biggest concerns regarding a potential JP4 line someday.
A very interesting auction popped up on ebay recently claiming to be a previously unreleased CE Night Hunter Spinosaurus. Certain JPtoys.com forum members requested more detailed pictures of the Spino but the seller mysteriously ended the listing early. Is it a real gem similar to the JPS2 Ornitho that popped up a few months ago? Click on the thumbnail and be the judge for yourself. We'll be sure to keep you updated if better pics/more info comes our way.
The news keeps coming fast and furious here at JPtoys lately! This latest news item was stubmbled upon by forum members 'Triceratops123', 'giganotoigauana' and 'parasaurolophus722 and appears to be a mock-up or prototype packaged version of the previously unreleased JPS2 Ornithosuchus. Similar to the packaged (but unreleased) CE Ultimasaurus, this Ornithosuchus was more than likely packaged for showcase at a Toy Fair but ultimately never saw the light of toy store shelves. The Ornithosuchus was being sold on eBay in England but unforunately was cancelled recently due to what the seller termed "oversealous fans" asking too many questions about the item.
First off, Happy Valentine's day to your & yours! Hope you have a good one. Now on to the news. Forum member 'robotassassin' ran across these new Jurassic Park images from this year's Toy Fair (held this week in New York). It's not uncommon for companies to put out products at the Toy Fair just to "show face" and there's really nothing earth shattering to see except that VERY interesting looking T-Rex. Could it be a preview of things to come or is it just some random piece thrown together for the show? Either way, we'll keep our eyes & ears open and let you know what (if anything) comes of this so be sure to stay tuned. In other news around the site, we have new customs from Joe which features a very nice Velociraptor herd.
Welcome to our first post of the new year! Let's get to it shall we? As the title suggests, we have a new custom creation of John Hammond from forum regular 'Parkmaster'. We also have a new diorama gallery from 'jurassicjosh'.
Today we have new customs from 'Rexmeister' featuring a pair of Biosyn Raider Soldiers and a Homo Saurus. We also have a new collection gallery from 'Arno'. Be sure to check those out!
On the heels of our last customs update we have another new gallery from 'Marten' with a dandy lead-off entry! Have you ever wondered what the unreleased Gulper T-Rex might've looked like? Well Marten's given it his best shot so here's your chance to take a peek! Be sure to give that a gander. In related news, everyone is already familiar with custom regular 'Bucket-foot Al' aka Vlad. Well he now has his own gallery/webpage with all of his previously released customs and of course those he's currently working on. His gallery here his linked to the new site as well. Lastly today we have a new JPD3 poll question up for your voting pleasure.
We told you there would be more, now didn't we? The latest addition to our new Downloads section here at JPToys is the actual decal/sticker sheets from some of your favorite JP vehicles & playsets! Some of the scans include the Jungle Explorer, Capture Cruiser and the Dino-Damage Medical Center. Just follow the simple instructions provided and you'll be printing & cutting in no time! There's plenty more to see so be sure to visit the Downloads section today...just make sure you have enough ink for the printer.
Also today we have four brand new dioramas from "TrikeAttack" up for your viewing pleasure in the Diorama section...enjoy! (Update - 9/6) Added new dioramas from AcroIguana - check 'em out!
Could it be possible that one year has already passed since the attacks on our country and freedom itself on 9/11? Doesn't seem possible, does it? It seems like only yesterday that I was huddled around my television, switching back & forth between channels in disbelief, as I'm sure most of you were. Could something like this really happen to us? And by us, I mean the entire free world. It wasn't just Americans that were attacked that day, there were people on those planes and in Twin Towers from all over the world. Freedom was attacked, not just Americans.
On behalf of the entire JPToys.com staff, our thoughts and prayers go out to those that were affected by the tragic events that day. May God bless you and this great country of ours.
First off, I apologize for the lack of updates lately but as you can guess, we're working hard behind the scenes to get those new site features online, not to mention there's nothing newsworthy happening anymore. More on that in a minute. I don't have anything major to get to today so I've just combined a few items into one little update.
- "JP Action Man" just sent in his latest diorama which is now up for your viewing pleasure in our hosted dioramas section.
- Do you have an interest in custom JP LEGO figures? If so, head on over to our good friend "CloneTroop15" site, FMDesigns. He just unveiled 3 new customs from JP: Ian Malcom, Dr. Henry Wu, JP Worker #1 and Dieter Stark from TLW. He also features customs from "Area 51" and "Ghostbusters". All of the ordering /purchasing details can be found on the site...check it out!
- The last thing I'll mention is our progress on the new sections. Expect to see our first roll out of the new toy archives very soon. I believe we're starting off with the JP3 Hybrids section just to give you a small taste of the big things to come...stay tuned! Also remember we're trying to crown your favorite JP vehicle so make sure to vote in our latest poll question if you haven't done so already!
Thanks to DemonCarnotaur and RaptorAlpha, you can now take your first look at the new JPD3 Deluxe & Micro 2-packs in loose form. Top row is the deluxe line (with micros) and the bottom row would be your micro 2-packs:
Thanks again those guys for passing those shots along. As you may have noticed, we did not include the Deluxe T-Rex in that first row. Simple reason is, we don't have a loose shot yet. As soon as we run across one, I'll make sure to update this story with it.
First off, we here at JPtoys.com want to send our thoughts & prayers to those in New Orleans, Mississippi and Alabama that had there lives literally ripped apart by hurricane Katrina. The amount of devistation is simply astonishing. Many people are wanting to help out and probably the best thing you could do is to donate what you can to the American Red Cross. By clicking on the link it will take you to a page where you can donate anywhere from $10-$500. Ten bucks may not sound like much but at this point, every little bit helps.
The big toy news today comes from forum moderator Stitch who was able to track down these new Deluxe Dinos for us at a KB store:
Other than the hideous micro dinos (tric doesn't look too bad), these deluxe versions are definitely top notch repaints. So be on the look-out for them soon at a toy store near you! (9/6 - UPDATE) - Thanks to 'DemonCarnotaur' for the back shot!
In an update to yesterday's story, 'robotassassin' and 'spinosaur122' were kind enough to pass along pics of all the new JPD3 micro-dino 2-packs:
Overall I'm just not too impressed. Repaints are one thing but excluding the Triceratops (only because it's a new mold), these new micro dinos are just plain uninspiring and hideous. The days of "well at least we're getting something new" are long over IMO. They were even careless enough to label the Stegosaurus a "Spinosaurus" on the front of the Raptor/Stego box (unless of course it's an error). They probably thought we'd never notice huh? Silly JP toy fans. Hasbro should be ashamed, we as JP fans deserve more!
Just when some were starting to doubt whether we'd see these new "micro-dinos" we get the following report from forum member 'robotassassin':
"I'm new to the board and I just returned from Florida. I was at Universal Studios, Orlando. I loved the JP area at the Islands of Adventure. The river ride was great but a bit short and the discovery center was closed off for remodeling!!! . Anyways back on the subject. As you all may know there is a new series of mini JPD("Jurassic park dinosaurs") being released by Hasbro, along with the large electronic t-rex & pterranodon, and the regular 3 electronic dinos w/3 mini dinos. I happen to go shopping around in the smaller shop that is located within the discovery center and to my surprise they had all 4 of the new mini-dino packs.
-Tyrannosaurus Rex & Spinosaurus
-Tyrannosaurus Rex & Triceratops
-Stegosaurus & Velociraptor
-Pteranodon & "compy"
I purchased the "Tyrannosaurus Rex & Spinosaurus" and the "Tyrannosaurus Rex & Triceratops." Both are great! This line is starting to get serious and is showing more "realistic/movie-like" paint apps. They don't appear silly or odd like their previous releases."
Unfortunately he was not able to pass along pics at this time. We will of course post anything right here once we receive it so stay tuned. In news around the site today, some pretty cool new CE prototypes of Ian Malcom & Roland Tembo were spotted by forum member 'cityscapes' and those are now up for your viewing pleasure in our prototypes section. Finally today we have a new diorama gallery from 'dilophosaurus1' that includes over 17 dioramas.
It's the news we've all been waiting to hear, it looks like JP4 has a writer and is ready to roll! Thanks to Mr. Goodbytes for pointing us to this article on Variety.com:
"Universal Pictures is moving forward with a fourth installment of "Jurassic Park" to be penned by William Monahan. Kathleen Kennedy will again produce."
Click here for the entire article. Now, if they would just go ahead and give us a release on the new toys. I know, probably a little too early, one can hope though...right? In site news, make sure to keep it tuned here to JPToys as we are a matter of mere days away from releasing our first section of brand new toy archives. Trust me, you don't want to miss it! *UPDATE* - The first release comes a little earlier than expected... how does tomorrow morning sound?!
We've been promising since day one that we would one day get around to updating our toy archives. Trust me, we know the current ones just plain stink (to say the least). Well, that long awaited day is finally here! Our first completed section happens to be the JP3 Hybrids. Once there, you'll find more high quality pictures than you can shake a bone at! We have box shots, loose shots, diorama shots & more! That will be the basic template you can expect for the rest of the sections as well. Which section are we doing next? You'll have to stay tuned to find out!
Our goal here at JPToys is to give you the visitor the most complete Jurassic Park toy database on the internet and we sincerely hope you enjoy our latest step in that process. It may be a slow process but we are determined to reach our goal. Also before I go, I would be amiss if I didn't thank our site administrator Armothe for all of his dedicated work on not only this latest section, but our entire site in general. He stays a very busy man and every moment he can take to help out on this site is greatly appreciated. Have a great weekend everyone!
As you may or may not have noticed lately, we've recently undertaken the task of updating some of our older toy database shots as well as adding hundreds of new ones. The update was LONG overdue but better late than never...right? We'll continue to add shots in the coming weeks but the massive first push is over with, just a few things here and there left. I also have to thank our good friend Marten (better known as 'Gallimimus' on the forum) for helping provide many of the new shots you see. He has been quite genrous with his time and for that, I will always be grateful! Other than that today, we have a new collection gallery up from 'Triceratops123' and it's in flash!
Our good friend and forum moderator rexforever decided to drop in with our latest (and first) review of the CamoXtreme Swamp Pack as well as three new dioramas! So be sure to check those out when you get a chance. Also, I want to thank everyone for their participation in our last poll question. Everyone overwhelmingly approved of the new toy archives (86% to be exact). Now, go check out the new poll and let us know what you favorite shots are of the new archives. Have a great weekend!
From everyone here at JPToys, we want to wish you all a happy and safe Thanksgiving holiday! Oh yeah, I almost forgot - Go Noles...beat those sorry ol' Gators! >>----,>
Did everyone get their fill of turkey & dressing over the weekend? I know I sure did! Anyway, make sure to check out our latest new & improved toy archives release - the JP Bootlegs. If you have seen, or know of any bootlegs which we are missing, don't hesitate to drop us a line at webmaster@jptoys.com.
Well, it's been over a year since those first wonderful images of the new JP3 toys at the 2001 Toy Fair graced our computer monitors...doesn't seem like that long ago does it? Well it has been, so how about a little trip down memory lane? The JPToys staff thought it would be fun to collect some of those photos for archives sake. So without further delay, we present to you the 2001 New York Toy Fair archive. Have a great weekend everyone!
Where can I buy JP toys? Does this site sell JP toys? These are just a couple of the many questions we get asked here at JPToys.com on a weekly basis. So to keep from having to repeat ourselves all the time, we've put together a page of frequently asked questions (FAQ) to hopefully answer some of those questions for you.
The next installment of the JPToys Database is online - with the debut of JP3 CamoXtreme toy line. We trust you will enjoy our high-quality photos, and as always; stay tuned to JPToys.com for more vivid photos from all the other Jurassic Park themes.
WOW! JPToys.com is making waves with our new picture database! One of our enthusiastic members took note and sent in the below picture to be added to our archives! The picture is of the back of the Deluxe Desert Spinosaurus package. We see our elusive friends the Ultra Canyon T-rex and Deluxe Desert Spinosaurus - but they've been joined by two new toys which many of you have never seen: Deluxe Tropical Raptor & Lava Pteranadon! The picture is a bit fuzzy, but it is still a gem none-the-less. Visit our Toy Database here to learn more about these.
The JPToys.com staff would like to take this opportunity to wish each of you a very Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year! On a more personal note, we would like to thank each and everyone of you that continue to make us your favorite place for JP toy news & discussions.
Did everyone have a nice New Year's celebration? I spent mine down in the "Big Easy" so you know I had a blast! Well I do hope everyone had a great time and we here at JPToys.com certainly wish you & yours the best in '03.
I also wanted to make a quick mention today about the most recent addition to our Forum. Last week we added an "Other Toys" board, where as you guessed it, members can enjoy discussing those other "outcast" toy lines such as Star Wars and LOTR. We also decided to merge the Sale/Trade board with the JP Toy Talk board. If you're not a member of our forum yet, please take the time to read over our guidelines and then sign up with Proboards quick & easy registration form. Now's a better time than ever, with over 460+ members, there's always something to talk about!
A big thanks to Raptoralpha and our very own Armothe for these latest entires in our Customs gallery. Raptoralpha has 5 new customs, while Armothe adds two new LEGO customs to his gallery. Remember, if you would like to see your custom JP creations displayed in our gallery, just drop us a line and we'll take care of the rest. (Late Update) - Just added a new custom sent in by Bucketfoot-Al of the "Spinosaurus Imperator" - enjoy!
We have just a few site updates to pass along today. First off, "Bucketfoot-Al" continues to add to his already impressive custom gallery with a Horizon T-Rex repaint submission. Next up, I wanted to update the progress on our toy databases. As I'm sure you've noticed by now, it's been well over a month since our last release. We just wanted to assure everyone that progress is still being made and our goal is very much intact. You should see the next release very soon. We also have a new feature to add to some of our existing databases that we think everyone will really enjoy, look for that in the coming days. Last thing I wanted to mention today. We have some site modification plans in store for the coming weeks, most of which will make the site much eaiser to navigate around. Keep it tuned here for further updates.

Or, have fun coloring a fierce Spinosaurus
Do all of the above with help from our new Color & Games section! (located in our downloads section).
Featuring pages taken directly from the Jurassic Park coloring & activities books themselves, this new section will allow you to express your unbridled creativity or just pass some time on a rainy day.
Also, be sure to check out the other downloads sections. We've added instructions and decals for both the Chaos Effect and Dinosaurs toy lines.
Our good buddies at ProBoards will be upgrading their forum software this weekend. As a result the JPToys forum might be experiencing some downtime.
The upgrade will include such improvements as:
- Improved headers/footers functionality
- Ability to change all images on the board to custom images
- Modify avatar list
- Calendar for posting events!
- More advanced member search (search by IP, registration date)
It's been a long time coming but we are now proud to present to you the JPToys.com Collector Card Database! Once there, you'll find front and back scans of all your favorite JP series 1 & 2 cards as well as the complete set of CamoXtreme cards. We've even included a list to assist you in filling out your collection. Now you may notice that we haven't included the Diecast cards yet. They are soon to follow but we still have just a little bit of work left to do on them before they can be uploaded. That's it for the updates today but make sure to stay tuned for another nice surprise coming soon!
On a more somber note, we would like to pass along our condolences to those that lost loved ones in the terrible Space Shuttle Columbia disaster this weekend. Our thoughts and prayers are certainly with you. Those seven brave souls that gave their lives may be gone but will never be forgotten.
First up I wanted to mention our new poll question. This time around we want to know which unreleased prototype would you most like to own? Be sure to let us know by voting today! The next thing I'll mention is regarding our news archives. I went through and gathered up all of our old news stories from our first site at JP3 HQ and then later at Geocities for placement with our current archives. It was really fun looking back at some of the old headlines like our first "JP3 Hasbro Toys Are On Their Way" to "CamoXtreme Chaos" and the whole Tapejara controversy. Fun times indeed. So take a trip down memory lane when you get a chance, I really think you'll enjoy it.
Several new customs were added today including a brand new gallery from 'JP Action Man' and new entries to existing galleries from Tyrant and Raptoralpha. There's some really outstanding customs in there so make sure to check 'em out! Remember, we are willing to host your custom creations right here at JPToys. Please contact our staff for more information if you're interested.
It's finally here, one of the sections you've been waiting for. We've managed to get a hold of several Kenner toy catalogs featuring various Jurassic Park toys. After some painstaking labor - scanning, formatting, and indexing - we are proud to release over 100 images for your enjoyment.
Visit this new section and check it out!
There seems to be quite a bit of Spring savings going on lately which I guess is never a bad thing! Kevin sends word that Toysrus.com is offering a $10 savings on all orders over $75. Just apply the code: SVTYMGSAVETN and you're on your way! We also have one new review today of the Bull T-Rex sent in by English_T-Rex.
A big thanks to everyone that has sent in reviews lately. We pride ourselves here on having the most extensive online review database and without you guys it wouldn't be possible. Now, on to the reviews. Kevin drops in with a whopping 7 reviews - TLW High Hide, TLW Cyclops Raptor, CE Tyrannonops, CE Compstegnathus, CE Velocirapterx, Amargospinus and the JP3 DVD poster. SuchoSURFER also chimes in today with his review of the CE Tanaconda.
Also today, we wanted to acknowledge the change to our main header image. We here at JPToys fully support the U.S. military and our allies in Operation Iraqi Freedom. We send our thoughts and prayers to those brave men and women overseas and their families.
With so much going on in our lives and the world in general these days, it's amazing how quickly time can fly. It just dawned on me that today is our 2nd anniversary! We really have nothing special to pass along in celebration but I would like to mention a new project in the works (very early stages) that will make our exclusive Price Guide look small in comparison...trust me. Other than that, we continue to ask for your patience as other sections come online. They will all be up soon but you can't rush quality and I don't think there's any arguing about the high quality of pictures we try to provide you guys with in our various sections. Just please bare with us. In closing, we want to thank everyone so much for the support and encouragement you continue to provide us on a daily basis. You truly are what keeps us ticking!
It's been well over a year since we held a site chat (last time it was called the JPTC chat!) but due to popular demand from our forum members - it's back! The chat is conducted on AOL instant messanger and we usually talk about anything and everything. As it stands now, the chat will begin at 9pm EST tonight. Please follow the chat thread in the Lounge area of our forum as things could always change at the last minute. Hope to see everyone there and have a great weekend!
Hope you all had a great weekend. We have a lot to get to today so let's get started, shall we? It's been a long time coming but today we are proud to give you yet another JPToys Database release - the Chaos Effect toy line. Also be sure to check out our new database template which includes links to other important items of interest like price guide listings, instructions, reviews and sounds. We also have new reviews from Dimetrodon of the JP BDT, Capture Copter, Net Trapper and the JP3 Wal-Mart Exclusive set. You can check all of those out it our Toy Database today.
This was just too awesome to not pass along! Using oils, the artists over at Skinwerks.com took a TLW Bull T-Rex and repainted it over a two week period to match its Jurassic Park movie counterpart. To say that this is the absolute best custom job I've ever seen would be a huge understatement. The attention to detail is just astounding and as you will see, the end results are truly amazing! Be sure to check it out when you get a chance. (Thanks Ultra_T-Rex)
How was everyone's weekend? Hope all was well. We've got quite a bit to get to today so let's get started. First up is my review of the Jurassic People DVD. We've got some very interesting news to pass along to you today from forum user 'Frost' over on the Jurassic Island Forums:
"Recenty I visited a Italian Resturant named Fazoli's. While going through the Drive In Pick up Line, I couldn't believe my Eyes when I seen a poster of Four Jurassic Park Dinosaurs. The resturant is giving out four different types of dinosaurs Skeletions that you put together, Tyrannosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Triceratops, Pteranodon. They come in a middle sized package with the JP:I symbol on the center, and you can carry the bones in a large egg with JP symbol printed on that. Each toy comes with a trading card with information on that dinosaur. I will soon be able to scan a information picture of the toys, (I'm saving up to buy extra where I can open some)."
Here are scans of the toy package and the collector card that comes with each toy. A big thanks to 'Sk8er' and 'Frost' for sending them along. We'll be sure to post more scans as we get them...enjoy!
Have an exclusive look at the new Jurassic Park Institute Toys! These pseudo-toys were exclusively offered by the popular Italian-food chain Fazoli's. With the help of the Jurassic Park Institute, Fazoli's created four miniature dinosaur skeletons which can be assembled and disassembled. Each dinosaur skeleton comes packaged with an exclusive collector card and packaged inside a break-apart plastic egg featuring the Jurassic Park Institute Logo. A decorative JPI plastic cup was also given away as part of the promotion.
Time to get caught up on a few recent additions. In case you haven't visited our Customs section lately, we have several new submissions including two new galleries from Dark Spinosaurus and Stephen. Speaking of customs, forum member Kevin has organized a customs contest with prizes given away to the first and second place finishers. He must have at least 10 entries to make this a go so please visit this thread for all the official rules and details. So be sure to check all of that out and have a great weekend!
It's finally here! Check out our new JPToys.com merchandise in our CafePress online shop! All proceeds from sales go to keeping this site up and running. Website costs such as: server space, domain registry, and possible upcoming advertisements will be curbed if even a few of our 600+ members purchase items from our store. If enough interest is received, we will upgrade to a full-blown store and offer many more designs and products to the public. We might just run contests for annual JPToys.com T-shirt designs! Check out our store!
Just a little FYI for everyone, we've now updated the toy archives for the JP, TLW and JP3 sections (the JPD section should be completed soon). Please keep in mind that these are only temporary fixes as we work behind the scenes to complete the "real deals". However, just to spice things up a bit, we've included many of the toy sounds for your listening pleasure! (thanks JPDino) If you have any pictures that you'd like to submit, please send them to webmaster@jptoys.com.
Also today, we have a new diorama gallery up from 'Night' which includes a CE Thrasher Rex...don't see him often do ya? Finally, we couldn't leave without mentioning that today marks the 10th anniversiary of JP for all of our friends over in the UK...celebrate good times come on!
Well the votes are in and with over 1,000 in favor of pop-up ad removal, Proboards owner Patrick Clinger had decided to make true on his promise. Here's what he had to say:
"On September 1st, 2003, ProBoards will become officially popup free. The only advertisements on your board will be the banner ad at the top, and the links at the bottom. We are going to see how things go with a popup-free ProBoards. I can not guarantee that there will never, ever again be popups on ProBoards, but honestly I would like to keep it that way."
Of course all of us here are very excited about the announcement to say the least. A big thanks to everyone that voted - you guys definitely made a difference! In other news today, we have a new diorama gallery from Rick Raptor and dilo33 has updated his gallery with four new additions. We also have a new addition to Armothe's custom gallery of the InGen helicopter. The attention to detail is truly amazing...check it out!
After a bit of a slow start, the sales at our merchandise store has now picked up quite a bit thanks to you guys! Well our savings guru Kev sends word that Cafepress is now offering a $5 off coupon on any order over $25. Just enter the code 'ILOVECP' on your payment page during the check out process and you're well on your way to great savings on your favorite JPToys logo merchandise! In other news, we have one review to pass along to you today of TLW Mobile Command Center by DeereX. So everyone be sure to check those items out and have a great weekend!

Granted it's been a long time coming but we've finally managed to open up a section for members to show off their massive JP toy collections! We kick off that section today with galleries from AcroIguana, Armothe, CarnotaurusX, Jurassic_Park_HP and TrikeAttack. Please keep in mind that these pages are very picture intensive so things may take a while to load. To view the galleries and find out how to get your gallery listed, please visit our collections section today!
As of yesterday, the JPToys forum officially went pop-up free! We of course all hope this is a permanent fix but the Proboards staff does want to remind everyone that they can't promise we'll never see pop-ups again in the future. So keep your fingers crossed!
In other site news, we have two additions to our new collections section from Rick Raptor and DinosaurNeill. Also today we have four new reviews from Takutanuva of TLW Peter Ludlow, Roland Tembo, trike hatchling and the JPS2 Ian Malcom. Rick Raptor checks in with his thoughts on the JPS1 Velociraptor and the JP3 animatronic Spinosaurus and Carnotaurs has a take on the JP3 Stalking raptor. While in the review section, you may notice that we've done some much needed re-organization. We hope this makes finding your favorite review a little less tedious. Thanks to everyone for those great submissions...enjoy!
We've been quite busy behind the scenes lately updating our unfinished toy archives from the JP, TLW, JP3 & JPD sections with TONS of new pictures. Forum moderators AcroIguana & Raptoralpha have even joined in the cause by submitting all kinds of wonderful new pictures including the ever popular diorama shots! Many of the new pictures have already been uploaded to the various sections throughout the database so make sure to check them out when you get a chance. Plenty more photos are on their way so stay tuned!
We also have several other site updates to pass along today. First up, Raptoralpha has submitted two new customs as well as his collection photos for our new collections section. We also have a new poll up for your voting pleasure and a very in-depth review of the JPS1 Junior T-Rex from David...enjoy!
We received a very interesting (hideous) picture from "Josh" recently of a bootleg set from the "Scientific Wonders" line. The set includes a mixture of JP3 humans, small dinos and 3-4 miscellaneous weapons. This particular set includes an Eric Kirby repaint, Amanda Kirby Spino (somewhat repainted) and an Alan Grant 2 pack raptor. Other sets were made so please drop us a line if you happen to spot any. Also today, we have a new custom gallery from Joe that includes three very nice customs, two of which come from the resaurus line...enjoy!
We've hinted at JP3 toy price drops in the past (Oct. 15th) but you can now consider it official! Forum moderator Kevin send word on this latest JP3/KB exclusive:
- $5.99 ea. KB Exclusive Jurassic Park III Electronic Dinosaurs
- $12.99 ea. KB Exclusive Jurassic Park III Ultimate Dinosaurs
"In the little sections, it advertises the Ultra T-Rex and the CamoXtreme Jungle Spinosaurus! Good news some JP Stuff is in the light again! And as a KB Toys Exclusive!"
Good news indeed. We hope everyone has a chance to cash in on these great sale prices while they last! If you'd like to view the entire ad, you can do so by clicking here.
Okay, so it may not be Thanksgiving just yet but I'll be on the road this weekend and won't have time for an update. So be sure to eat plenty of turkey & dressing but most importantly, be SAFE! The holiday roads can be very dangerous so be careful out there! This has been your JPToys.com safety briefing for the year.
Have you had a chance to check out the latest & greatest custom from Big Razzie? It's a custom Visitor's Center Playset built to scale to fit all of your JP toys! Razzie put a lot of time and effort into this custom and the results speak for themselves. She's recently opened a new site dedicated to the playset which can be found here.
Over the weekend, forum moderator Raptoralpha came across an interesting new Stalking Raptor bootleg at his local flea market. It's the same exact Stalking Raptor from the JP3 line but the box has undergone a few changes. The phrases range from "CAN BE OPEN AND CLOSE" to "THE HEAD WIGGLES". It's definitely worth a look (or laugh) when you get a chance.
Have you ever wondered what some of your favorite unreleased JP toys might have looked like had they been released? Well wonder no more! The idea for this section came to us from Tom, one of our forum members when he posted a mock-up version of the unreleased JP Series 2 Gulper T-Rex. Of course we thought this would be a wonderful idea for a new section here at JPtoys! So without any further delay, we present to you the What If? section!
As another year comes to a close and we look forward to the next, everyone here at JPToys.com wishes you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! It's going to be a VERY eventful one for sure in our household this year with the baby on the way. Rest assured, the wife and I are enjoying the last few quiet moments we'll be having for a while!
Just in time for the holidays, we have several new submissions to pass along to everyone. First up, Bucketfoot-Al drops in with new customs of a Desert Spinosaurus and a Beast Raiders Triceratops. Bucketfoot also has a new diorama gallery loaded with 7 new dioramas! And finally today we have 2 new submissions to our new What If? section, featuring Scrap Davis & an Underwater Exploration Set. So be sure to check all that out and we'll see ya back here next year!
Two updates in one day? Boy you guys and gals are really getting your money's worth today! In a major udpate to our story below regarding the packaged JPS2 Ornithosuchus, the seller recently emailed me to inform that the rare figure is now up for auction again due to what he termed "high demand". He mentions that he found the figure at a catalogue store in England years ago. He was kind enough to share more pictures with us that you can now view below:
In another JPtoys.com exclusive, we are proud to give you your first look at the 2 new JPD3 repaints courtesy of forum member "JPobsessed"...enjoy!
JPobsessed mentioned that each deluxe figure was $14.97. Based on the back of the box, it looks like we'll have much more to collect in the coming weeks/months. For sure we see 3 new regular dinos - T-Rex w/micro Triceratops, Velociraptor w/micro Pteranodon and a Triceratops w/micro velociraptor. We also see at least 3 new 2-packs, with a 4th listed (Pteranodon & Compy) but not shown. We'll be sure to bring you more details as they become available so stay tuned here to JPtoys.com for all the latest!
Here's a new line of toys that forum member Neelis came across recently. They are manufactured by the French toy company Papo and are currently available only overseas. However, US site tgftoys and linkandpinhobbies expect them in the states soon. The set includes a T-Rex, Velociraptor, Triceratops and a Parasaurolophus. The detail and likeness to their actual JP movie counterparts is something we definitely haven't seen in toy form before.
Here's what Neelis had to say regarding measurements:
The Rex is as big as the Jurassic Park III Re-Ak At-Ak Tyrannosaurus: but much, much more detailed. (It can't move it's limbs, by the way, the mouth is the only moving part.) The Raptor's head comes up to the chest of the Tyrannosaurus. Tyrannosaurus Rex Length: approx. 19 cm (head to curve in tail) Height: approx. 15.5 cm Velociraptor Length: approx. 16 cm (head to tail) Height: approx. 8 cm they aren't scaled, but it doesn't even matter: they are very well executed: If you see them you would swear they could have been official Jurassic Park toys. If only Universal would see this, strike a deal with Papo and have them create another line, with more dinosaurs from Jurassic Park: what great collectors items they could become!
Yes indeed. Hasbro could definitely learn a few things from this line. We can hope...right?? In the meantime, these Papo toys are definitely a very cool alternative. A big thanks to all JPtoys.com forum members that have participated in this story. Be sure to follow this thread on our forum for more details as they become available. In other news, we have new dioramas from Extinct and dilo33 now up for your viewing pleasure.
Well another year has come and gone. Not a calendar year but the anniversiary year for those of us here that make up JPtoys.com. I don't have anything to pass along other than our usual gratitude to those of you out there that make this thing we do quite enjoyable. What a fun four years it's been and with JP4 not too far away (crosses fingers), there should be much more to come!
Hey who needs the Oscars? We've got the second edition of the JPToys.com Diorama Contest! Well we've had an enormous amount of participation (over 40 dioramas in 5 categories) and now it's your turn to vote for the winners. The following page has been setup for you to view all of the individual dioramas as well as a link to the voting page page. Voting has been setup to allow only one vote per person per category. So please, no multiple voting attempts. Any irregularities will be looked at by our staff. The voting will last until next Tuesday (Mar. 8th) so please cast your votes as soon as possible. Good luck to all the participants!
Here's your first look at the CE: Night Hunter Series packaged shots, courtesy of 'Thetyrantlizard'. The quality isn't that great but we hope to have better scans up soon. Click on the thumbnail below for a larger version.
The long awaited/requested 2nd JPToys.com Diorama Contest is officially underway! We have a total of 5 categories (Movie, Novel, Fiction, Diorama Story, Non-JP) for you to submit under. Only one entry per person per category and the entry deadline will be next Monday - Feb. 28th. Please use this thread on our diorama board to submit your entries. If you're not a member, it's very quick & painless to sign up (I promise) so please do so. Good luck to all the participants!
Eagle-eyed forum member "avpvjp" spotted another unique JP bootleg that popped up on ebay recently. It's a Styracosaurus from the "Dinosaur Ambulate" line found overseas. Be sure to check that out. I also just added 2 new reviews to our database from "redbackrex" of TLW Bull T-Rex & JP3 Aqua Spino.
Every once in a while some truly unique JP related items surface on the net that we like to pass along to you guys. A couple of years ago it was the custom painted Bull T-Rex. This time forum moderator Stich came across a wonderful Baby Triceratops painting on ebay. The painting was done by Tom Amici using the JPS2 Tricertops hatchling as a guide. He used airbrush, colored pencils and acrylics. You can view a larger verison of the image by clicking on the thumbnail to the right or by viewing the auction itself.
Here's an interesting item that forum moderator Stitch came across recently that some experienced collectors had never seen before. It's titled "Limited Edition Movie Collector Sheet" and features the front & backs of the JPS1 collector cards that were included with the individual toys. Pretty nifty huh?
Welcome to '04 everyone! Hope you all had a nice & safe New Year's celebration. We here at JPToys.com certainly wish you & yours the best over this coming year. Well, as we ease into the new year, we have 2 "big" new entries to our What If? section to pass along. First up, Sitch shows us what a JP3 Brachiosuarus might've looked like and then Extinct shows off his version of a JP S2 Ultrasaurus. Now you know what I meant when I said "big"!
Several of our members have requested that JPToys.com create a picture database of the Dino-Quest line produced by Chap Mei Toys. The 1:18/3.75" scale toys are a perfect addition to dioramas and customizers alike - but are extremely hard to find. Read more about the Dino-Quest toy line, and view pictures in the latest addition to our toy section.
Armothe recently updated our downloads section with decals for the JP3 Raptor Attack Playset. Be sure to check those out along with all the other items we have listed for your downloading pleasure.
A few days ago, Susan from the Family Library received a charitable donation of loose toys with what appeared to be several Jurassic Park dinosaurs in the mix. Paperwork requires her to catalog each toy with a description, manufacturer and manufacturer's date. She managed to find JPToys online and asked for assistance. JPToys identified and provided information about: TLW Remote Control Stegosaurus (ToyBiz), TLW Remote Control Triceratops(ToyBiz), and TLW Finger Puppets (Resaurus).
Read what Susan had to say:
"As a Librarian for a combination toy and book library and resource room, I had looked everywhere on the net to try to find needed product information to catalog some Jurassic Park toy donations. I was very lucky to find the JP Toys site. Their resident geniuses were able to tell me the titles of the toys, the product information (vital to cataloguers), and provided pictures for our visual catalog!
I greatly appreciate their swift help with this!"

Wow, has another anniversary actually snuck up on us that quick? Our true anniversary falls on April 2nd but you get the idea. We surely didn't think we would make it this far and it wouldn't have been possible without your support year after year. Introducing a new baby into the family has been a big financial strain on us and keeping this site up & running has been a struggle at times. I can't guarantee how much longer we'll hang around but one guarantee you can count on is that while we are here, the staff here at JPToys.com will continue to bring you the most in-depth JP toy coverage available on the web. Looking into the future, we have some VERY exciting thing planned including a site redesign, store redesign and of course the on going effort to perfect our toy databases. In other words, you aint seen nothin' yet!
OK, enough of that. How about a new poll question? Speaking of which, I have to thank everyone that participated in our previous one...all 466 of you! By far the most participation we've ever had in a single poll question.
It looks like we've finally gotten our site related issues worked out and JPToys is here to stay! Thanks again to everyone out there for your encouragement & support. I never could've imagined just how much you guys truly care about what we do here. It's because of you that the site is now back and back for good.
FYI, be sure stay tuned in the coming weeks for a few announcements. One of these include new JPToys.com merchandise. You'd better snap up all the old merchandise you can because new designs are on their way!
Forum member 'Permian-Triassic Fan' came across a new JP3 Ankylosaurus bootleg recently at his local Dollar Store. The package comes complete with a smaller repainted version of the JP3 Triceratops and repaint of TLW Eddie Carr Triceratops hatchling. Check it out in our bootlegs section today!
Most of yesterday was spent working on the LONG overdue update to our diorama section. What exactly did we do? Well for starters, all dioramas have been moved to our JPToys.com server so you won't be getting those annoying data transfer exceeded messages from Geocities. We also edited all of the images down to a more uniform size so they'll all fit on one single page...no more clicking. All galleries have been alphabetized by username as well. So what does all this mean to you? Well besides the obvious mentioned above, it means that we're now accepting dioramas again! Just use the link provided on the diorama section main page if you're interested in submitting your handywork. Who knows, if the interest is high enough, you might just see another JPToys.com diorama contest around the corner. To kick things off, Bucketfoot-Al has submitted 6 new dioramas which are now up for your viewing pleasure...enjoy!
Before we get to the updates, I wanted to discuss these little "outages" we've been having here at JPToys.com lately. As you may or may not already know, we recently changed to a new host. Well this new host doesn't offer quite the bandwidth per month as our old one. We usually receive a bandwidth exceeded notice with about one week left in the month. As a result, the site is usually down for about the last 3-4 days of that month. We do apologize for this inconvenience. But please bare with us because we do have plans to switch hosts yet again to one that will provide us the necessary bandwidth per month that is needed to keep this behemoth up & running.
Now on to the updates. We've had a great response to our new & improved diorama section and we do thank you for that. Today we have a new gallery from Ted as well as additions to Bucketfoot-Al's gallery. Be sure to give those a gander. We also have a new entry ino our What If? section from Stitch. He shows us what a TLW Series 2 Young T-Rex might look like all boxed up. And finally today, we added another "Scientific Wonders" set to our ever growing bootlegs section.
Finally, I wanted to wish everyone out there a very happy & SAFE 4th of July weekend here in America. Please keep all of our fighting men and women over seas in your thoughts & prayers. There's a reason America is the land of the free and the home of the brave and they're it.
JPToys forum member SHOGMASTER has sent in various Chaos Effect concept drawings which you can find in our Chaos Effect prototypes section. At this time we won't say too much - as to provide for some sense of anonymity - we'll just get right to the pictures! Stay tuned for an exclusive interview with SHOGMASTER in the upcoming weeks. THESE ROCK!
Okay, no, we don't need any more mods for our forums, but we do need your support. We've added a donation button to the left hand side of our website which will allow you to send a reasonable donation to JPToys. Donations help offset expenses such as webhosting and maintaining our domain name. Eventually we will post an official donations page with more information on the JPToys endeavor as well as optional methods of payment. JPToys is proud to bring you yet another exclusive look at some never before seen Chaos Effect toys! Forum member Extinct came across these in a 1998 Toy Fair Catalog. Just what's included? You can see it all in our Catalogs section, but here's a quick glance:
* InGen Lab
* Ian Malcom
* "Power Suit"
* Ankylosaurus
* Stegosaurus and Pachysaurolophus
* Ultimasaurus & Deynocanis
* Deynocanis (closeup)
We will try to get higher quality scans up as soon as possible. Be sure to catch the discussion regarding this significant find in our FORUMS (you may have to register). In conjunction with these great new pictures, we also have a new poll question up for your voting pleasure today.
JPToys forum member Stitch has located some rather curious Jurassic Park toys on www.ebay.com.
The seller had this to say:
"We were amazed to come across these at an estate sale, and snatched them up. We are in the process of building a dinosaur park, so we are purchasing any great dinosaur items we can find. We are currently accepting sponsors for our life-sized dinosaur exhibits. Please let us know if you know of anyone who might want to “own” a dinosaur statue. Either way, these great JPs are the real deal, they were made by Hasbro. I’m attaching a scan of the back of the box."
The cardback has a date of 2003. Crafty Customs? Bootlegs? Unreleased Prototype mock-ups? Or is Hasbro giving us the real deal? Was this the rumored 10th Anniversary line we petitioned for? Discuss in our forums!
JPToys forum member Stitch submitted this neat little article on the concept-to-product process of creating these nifty toys geared more towards preschoolers. Don't forget to visit our JP Junior section here. Discuss this article in our forums.
I recently made contact with an executive at Hasbro in order to get to the bottom of this mysterious Jurassic Park: Dinosaurs toy line. Whereas we've already confirmed appearances at local KBToys to verify their legitimacy, it was confirmed that this is indeed a new toy line scheduled for limited release late summer/early fall. Here is a summary of our talking points:
A: Rumor has it there is a new JP toy line in the process of being released by Hasbro. True or False?
H: Yes, there has been a new line scheduled for release this year
A: This is the new JP: Dinosaurs line with the green packaging?
H: Yes, indeed
A: It was rumored that this line was created for a specific account (vendor) such as KBToys
H: Yes, this line was specifically created for KBToys retail
A: Can we expect only the four sets of 2-packs in this line?
H: No, I believe there are more, perhaps 10 total toys in this line.
In addition to these questions, Hasbro also rejected the notion that they ever lost the Jurassic Park toy license and there is a lot more to come. Probably the best news (at least I believe it to be) is that Hasbro is willing to open up a dialogue between themselves and JPToys! This is indeed exciting news for the Jurassic Park community. Let's keep our fingers crossed fellas!
A huge JPToys forum milestone was reached today as we passed the 1,000 member mark! Thanks to you guys over the years for making us the hottest place on the web for JP toys discussion. If you've never registered on our forum before, now is as good a time as any...especially with all the big news happening lately. Signing up is quick & relatively painless (I promise) so do it today!
A giant THANK YOU on behalf of those who have selflessly provided donations to JPToys.com. These donations have already eased the burden of website costs as well as assisted in purchasing a few hard to find Jurassic Park toy dealer catalogs (see next story)! Clicking on the Spinosaurus/PayPal icon to the left will now take you to a splash Donations page containing further information on how your donations are used. This page also contains instructions on how to donate using cash or personal check- as well as using a credit card through PayPal. Again, we truly appreciate your support!
Recently a total of 5 new never before seen JP3 prototypes have shown up on eBay. They include the Marine Copter, Alpha Pteranodon, Alpha Raptor, T-Rex and Triceratops. All are now up in our prototypes section for your viewing pleasure.
Forum member Jurassic_Jaws recently inquired to Hasbro about the Young T-Rex and Stego repaints that popped up on eBay recently (see 8/24 story). Here was their response:
"These items are from our Jurassic Park line and are sold exclusively at KayBee Toy and Hobby stores. Please visit your local KayBee Toy store or visit their web site at http://www.kbkids.com to check for availability."
This is the most concrete response we've received yet but as we all know, Hasbro customer reps don't always have the same stories. Only time will tell so be sure to stay tuned. Speaking of JP:D 2, we finally have our first reviews of the new series in. They were submitted by Rob6027 & Jurassic_Jaws. Both reviews take a look at the Cyclops Raptor repaint. Also while in the review section, you may notice that we've now moved all of the reviews over to our server from the old Geocities site. Yes indeed, the last connection we had to JPTC is now gone...*sniff*
About 2 weeks ago JPToys.com was contacted by the folks at Promotopia, Inc. probably better known to you as the makers of the Dinomania line of miniature dinosaur collectibles. Originally released in Japan only, Promotopia will now distribute the line here in the US, Canada & Mexico. They asked us to review their product and of course, we were happy to oblige.
In other news, Armothe recently uploaded new shots of the unreleased Chaos Effect Night Hunter series from a newly acquired 1999 Toy Fair catalog. These are by far the best pictures we've seen of this line to date.
Breathe in, breathe out. We're not talking about the actual packaged figure but what forum moderator Stitch came across was pretty cool nonetheless. While browsing the picture frame isle he found a movie poster frame that just so happened to use TLW Utahraptor as a reference! He was even kind enough to snap a picture for us. Also today, we've got a new diorama gallery from izartist that includes a whopping 22 new dioramas!
It's finally here. After much anticipation we finally put up photos and information from the latest JP series by Hasbro. It's not 100% finished as we plan to soon have loose photos of the 2-packs. Enjoy!
Looks like we found TWO more dinos belonging to the latest Jurassic Park Dinosaurs toy line. Thanks to forum member Alpha Brachio for sending in pics! Reports are starting to trickle in that these are slowly becoming available at KBToys across the US. Check 'em out!
Forum moderator Stitch recently came across the new electronic dinos pictured on the back of the deluxe Tyrannosaur & Pteranodon. Get your first up close look at them right here!
So did everyone have a good Thanksgiving? We here at JPToys sure hope all was well. Anyway, we haven't had a custom/diorama update in quite some time so here goes. Long time contributor Bucketfoot-Al checks in with a new modified Bull T-Rex, Giganotosaurus as well as updates to his existing Spinosaurus Maximus piece. Moving on to dioramas, we once again have new entries from Bucketfoot-Al along with 10 new entries from izartist and a new gallery from Robert. Be sure to check those out when you get a chance and have another turkey sandwich for me.
All of us here at JPToys just wanted to take the time to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and of course a happy & prosperous new year. I personally want to thank each & everyone of you loyal readers out there that continue to make us the most trusted site for JP toys news & reviews. You guys & gals are the best.
We don't have much to pass along today other than a new poll question and a new review of the JPS1 Tim Murphy from first time reviewer Robert. BTW, our last poll results were probably the closest we've ever had here. The question was "Would you be in favor of more JPD2 repaints?". Close to 300 people responded and 42% wanted something new (no more repaints), 40% wanted something new no matter what it was and 18% were undecided. So in short, the majority of JP toy fans what something new - no more repaints! Are you listening Hasbro? I doubt it but you can't say we didn't try to tell ya! On that note, we'll see ya next year!
On the heels of our very successful chat from February, forum moderator AEGIS has informed me that a 2nd AIM chat will be held this Saturday (4/12) @ 9pm US EST. Be sure to visit the official chat thread on our forum and post your screen name or PM AEGIS directly to be invited. In light of recent events around here, I'm sure this chat will be one you don't want to miss!
I recently received an email from Luke of Inter-Stellar requesting the use of some of our pics here at JPT. His local theater recently had a special screening of Jurassic Park (wish my theater would do that!) and that rekindled his interest in the JP toys he owned as a kid. Be sure to check out his new blog post "Welcome to Jurassic Park" on the experience and JP toys in general

Right after the news of Papo's new Styracosaurus, forum member spartansquat told us that the fanbase could expect yet another gem: an Ankylosaurus! Today, forum member dinolord posted a picture of Papo's newest creation. It turned to be yet another must-have for the Papo-collector! But, it is not the first time sculptors make an Euoplocephalus and name it Ankylosaurus instead. For the Jurassic Park fans among us, this piece is a nice replacement for the only adult Jurassic Park Ankylosaurid that never saw the light of day. A big thanks goes to both members. And Papo: keep up the good work!

Forum member Quetzalcoatlus posted yet another custom of his friend, Roberto. After the very good copy of the unreleased TLW series 2 Triceratops he managed to copy the Ultimasaurus from the Chaos Effect series. He even managed to modify the figure into something even more bad-ass! No T-Rex would want to meet this guy out in the open... More pictures are found here on the forums.

Today is a very joyful day! We have TWO separate events to celebrate: JPToys is online for 10 years and we hit the 3000 members mark on the forums. Quite the milestone, considering there hasn't been a movie for years. JPToys is non-profit since the beginning and has been maintained and updated by our volunteer staffers and our members. Our thanks goes to both, we couldn't have done it without you! In order to celebrate this event, we decided to organize a live chat event on our forums, on Saturday the fourth and Sunday the fifth of June. It's online 24 hours on both days. So, have you always wanted to meet other collectors? Feel free to subscribe to our free forums and tune in on the chat! Visit the forums here!

Today is the kick-off of our own banner contest! To celebrate our ten years' existence, we invited our members to make a new banner for the website. And making banners, that's exactly what they did! We got plenty of submissions, with some very gorgeous banners! We want to thank all of them for their time and their effort. To honor their work, we are proud to present them on our main page!
So, which banner would you like to see on the website? The voting will last until October 31th, midnight. *Did somebody say 'Halloween'?*. You can place your vote (and see the larger versions of the banners) over here! Non-members have to sign up first in order to vote.
Participant #1: Anonimusdinonicus submitted two banners:

An exciting day for us here at JPToys, as we are very proud to announce an exclusive interview with Mr. David Beneke, who worked as a sculptor, mold maker and puppeteer on the first and third Jurassic Park films.
And that's not all, as we have made a new section for interviews, that also includes our interview with Tim Bradley (now is a good time to re-read it). A new section for only two interviews, I hear you ask? Well, we are planning on semi-regularly adding new interviews to this part of the site, to celebrate our 10th anniversary! Read our new interview with Mr. Beneke here!
Excited about the interview with Mr. Beneke? Wondering who'll be the next interviewee? Why not join the discussion at our forums?

After a long struggle with the server, we finally managed to get our @jptoys.com e-mail addresses back online. We have installed a few different e-mail addresses, used for different purposes. If you like to contact the website for various reasons, please visit the Contact page.

Today we have another interview for you. Mr. Sturcke and Mr. Butkus are kind enough to tell us about some Jurassic Park: Dinosaurs 2 artwork that was featured on their websites. That included some previously unknown, unreleased specimens! Did you know there were a RC Hummer and a RC T-Rex drawn for that line? Also, they gave us some insight in how much artistic liberty they have in designing paint schemes for dinosaurs or for the packaging.

After practically living on Google and Waybackmachine.org for a few days, the staff team of JPToys managed to recover a lot of 'lost' prototype pictures. These pictures used to be on other JP toy fan sites, but those have disappeared through the years. Most pictures found their way to JPToys, but a bunch of them didn't and were considered lost for a very long time. This also includes the far better, original pictures of some prototypes. Plus, we added a lot of more recent prototype pictures too. So, we present to you: over 50 new prototype pictures on the website! Please check the prototype sections of each toy line, as the Jurassic Park series 2, The Lost World series 1 and 2, Jurassic Park 3, Chaos Effect, CamoXtreme, Jurassic Park:Dinosaurs 2 and Jurassic Park 2009 have all been updated.
And that's not all. We have a big surprise, also concerning recent prototypes (not visible in the picture below)... check our forum to see what it is (and for a full list of all new pictures)!

Every year Papo releases more sculpts, and every year we hope for even better sculpts than last time. This year, fortune smiles upon us! We get a T-Rex in a running pose (did someone mention V-Rex?), a repaint of the first Papo Rex (suits the Rex in the first movie, right?), and a hatchling in both green and brown. While the running T-Rex's catalog shot clearly shows it to be green, a brown version has already surfaced.
And that's not all. Papo listened carefully to the fans and finally made a very cool Brachiosaurus! Let's hope it's BIG. And of course, in earlier news Papo also comes with a Tylosaurus. Credit goes to Raptor86, lucidstillness and DemonCarnotaur for letting us know!
For larger pictures, please visit our Papo section!

And yet again we are proud to present you: an interview with the designer of the The Lost World line! Mr Joe DeVito speaks about designing the toys. Did you know that the magnet in the Compognathus' head was his idea? Mr Devito also designed the famous unreleased TLWS2 Triceratops and... the unreleased TLW Euoplocephalus! That's not all: he gave us the concept art! Check out the entire interview here! We also opened a discussion thread on the forum, here.

Once again, our moderator and official toy reviewer Roselaar wrote a lot of new reviews. This time for JP:Dinosaurs 2, JP:Dinosaurs 3 and JP2009. Have you wondered whether or not you should collect these lines? And what makes that JP2009 Bull T-Rex so different from his TLW counterpart? It's not just the additional points of articulation... So if you are interested or wondering if you should buy a figure, enjoy reading the reviews on the toy pages. Many thanks goes to Roselaar for all the time he put into this work... and we understand that reviewing a million repainted versions of the same figures can be daunting ;). (Thank you Hasbro, for your inability to release something new... at the very least you bored our reviewer, lol.)

Most people figured it out: we don't change the site. We couldn't let the 1th of April pass without a joke, huh?
Due to recent inactivity of a large group of our (mostly male) members, we decided to change things around here for a bit. From now on the site will be an archive website with not just toys, but beautiful young ladies with little clothing to show them. This strategy has never been used in the entire history of JPToys.com, and the entire staff team is convinced that the lack of this is the main reason why so many veterans left us over the years.
The introduction will be done in three steps. The first step is the new, far more interesting banner which is introduced today. The second step will be to change all the pictures on the site to include one of our ladies, and the third and last step will be video reviews where the ladies will talk about the toys in a far more interesting way than you can imagine! We expect to finish the new site in three months.
PS. To our lady members, there will be a ladies-only section too with male models.
PPS. If this caused anyone to feel offended, we are very sorry. JPToys.com will still be an archive website, but unfortunately this is the only way we can survive for the upcoming years.

Well, it's been a while since our last update, and I'm pretty sure you guys (and girls) missed us! Not to worry, as the JPToys staff has been busy as ever (although we suffered from a few minor technical difficulties) to bring you an all-new interview! This time, our raving reporter Trike123 got a chance to talk to Larry Selman, who is the creator of the impressive box art for several toys from both Jurassic Park series 2 and The Lost World! Naturally, we added some of mr. Selman’s work to our prototype gallery for JP series 2. Check it out here, and –of course- read the interview here!
And you might want to stay tuned to JPToys.com, because we will have some exciting news coming soon too!

Thanks to forum member Ichtyosaur, who took the effort of taking pictures of the Toy Hunter episode that featured Jurassic Park prototypes, we now have pictures of the prototypes shown. Many members have been asking JPToys for this, since not everyone was able to see the episode. We want to invite everyone to visit this thread, to see what awesome prototypes have been revealed. And yes, it does include the notorious TLWS2 Triceratops, TWICE.
Also, don't forget to post positive comments on Travel Channel's Facebook page, as well as their Twitter account. The more positive feedback they get, the more they are encouraged to continue with what they are doing (and thus we might see more JP toy gems in the future).

Happy New Year from the staff of JPToys. And it starts out with an awesome update: forum member scallenger contacted the artist who made the epic cards for Jurassic Park Series 1, Mr Brian Franczak. Mr Franczak was able to send us high-res scans of the cards themselves plus four scans of 'the making of'! Unfortunately the artwork itself was never returned to Mr Franczak, but make sure to download the set of artwork here, and join our forum discussion! Of course many thanks to scallenger for sharing this!

Yes, not that much of a spectacular news-update huh? Still, over the years we have had a lot of people asking us for this particular decal sheet. Thanks to forum member salernojp we now have a high-res scan of this sheet, and with this main page news update we wanted to say we can finally help you out. Go and download it here!

Yet another update and possibly not the last one for this week, as the past two weeks a lot of new things have been brought to our attention. Last week forum member notpicard, also active on JoeDeclassified, was kind enough to give us detailed pictures of two previously unknown JP2011 figures! He also unearthed quite a bit of interesting information as he found a piece of artwork that included the Adventure Team logo and an Allosaurus; while we thought that the lack of news about JP2011 meant that it was definitely scrapped, Hasbro had been working in secret to give it a new release as the GI-Joe Dino Hunters Adventure Team. Sadly for all of us hoping to get the dinosaur sculpts... this line has also been scrapped.
The nameless figure with the eye-patch is believed to be from JP2011, he is also the one who shows on the artwork but in very different clothing. The other nameless figure with the bow is likely from the GI-Joe Dino Hunters Adventure Team, but he is believed to have a very similar JP2011 counterpart.
But this is not all. Last week my mailbox contained a picture of a new 'A.W.E. Striker Trooper': a red one?! Is this a hint to yet another unreleased 'A.W.E. Striker' variation for the JP2011 line? Or is it the early prototype for the blue 'A.W.E. Striker Trooper'?

Today we have a plethora of news to report, so lets get started! First up, we have what seems to be evidence of a new Hasbro Jurassic Park line for 2014! Once again, mysterious new listings have appeared in the Toys R Us inventory system just waiting to be discovered, which of course, we discovered. Check out the picture, and item details below!
Giant Raptor - Hasbro Item # B1139 - $9.99
Basher Biter - Hasbro Item # B1271 - $9.99
Growlers - Hasbro Item # B1633 - $14.99
Chomping Rex - Hasbro Item # B1156 - $19.99
While we do not have a release date yet, I suspect we may see the items as soon as August, or Fall at the latest. As for specifics on the toys, they remain unknown, though some may be the unreleased 6" JP 2011 sculpts (Which we know consisted of the following and perhaps more: Velociraptor, Stegosaurus, Dilophosaurus, Pachycephalosaurus, Spinosaurus and Ankylosaurus). Stay tuned for further updates..

Next up is our first look at merchandise from Jurassic World, the long awaited fourth installment of the Jurassic Park franchise! Thanks to a set visit via Today Show we caught our first glimpse into Jurassic Worlds fictional gift shop, and we got a clear look at a 'Raptor Claw' toy by Hasbro! Check out the video here, and the picture below!
If only we could get a higher resolution of the video, as there seem to be a few more actual Jurassic World products hanging on the back wall. At this time it seems the other items will remain a mystery, but hopefully further set visits will share more glimpses of whats to come.
--
Our final bit of news is a blast from the past, proving that the Jurassic Park Dinosaurs simply want to defy extinction: check out the canceled Jurassic Park Chaos Effect Ceratosaurus!
It's truly amazing that after all these years, a completely unknown Prototype appeared and that we were able to obtain pictures. It is worth noting that the item now resides in a private collection and is in good hands, so fear not, it will not be forgotten or lost. Check out the toys page here, and on that note, our barrage of news is wrapped up for today, but stay tuned for more as it seems there will be plenty to report on the horizon!
